Sorry for not getting back to you sooner! I'm actually in New Zealand right now and far far away from my PS3. Gonna check it out as soon as I can though... which will be in May :P How's the co-op?

Laaaames. My favorite moment was my revenge against Exalt a few missions later. I'd just climbed my sniper on top of the back of a truck, so it was only half cover, but I had the "full cover" ability. She had her shiny, brand new plasma sniper rifle. She had two sides of a building covered. I sent an agent through the inside of a gas station, and it triggered three Exalt cells at once. The all came rushing into his view (around 9-12 agents? 3 to 4 per cell as I recall), and that's when all hell broke loose for them. Because of her squadsight she saw every enemy my other agent could see, and they were in the open because they were running up to a wall that faced him, but remained open to her from across a parking lot. Because she had "damn good ground" and was above them (barely, in a truck) she has a plus 10 to her aim. She also had bionic eyes and scope, so her aim was up there. She also had "opportunist" which eliminated aim penalties to action shots, and I'd just earned "in the zone". Since they were flanked by her and the the other agent, and they got caught running to cover they were flanked and out in the open. She took them all down in a single round with all headshots.

I sent another agent into the other direction inside that building, and he set off the final cell. They came running out to get into cover to attack him, and the same thing happened again. Mission over. It was beautiful.

Yeah, I'm still thinking of something good. I don't have a Kia Optima to mess around with, or I'd try to think of something cool to do with it. I still might. What car do you have specifically? Isn't it an Optima?

    What's your proudest XCom moment?

Rumor has it that you've given me comics. This offends my American sensibilities. I don't need some social program giving me reading material. If I can't afford it myself, I probably did something to deserve that circumstance and making it harder for me to get out of that circumstance is the only way to have me learn my lesson and fix the problem. That problem clearly being me. Nevertheless, thanks! No good deed goes unpunished, so you'll be getting something in the mail.

Have you come across any Exalt forces yet? I usually did okay with them, but one mission that kicked the sh*t out of me. Barely protected the target, and was left with only two people. Yeesh. It was probably my worst mission.

Also, don't feel too bad. The Chryssalid mission in Newfoundland is just brutal. I got lucky and I still lost two guys. It was a sad day.

Hey dude, thanks for picking some good story lines. I've been out of comics for ages, but it's nice to read some of these newer ones.

I also like the throwback comic to Spider-Man visting Winnipeg (which is apparently conveniently close to Fredericton.......I don't know.) and bringing is message of, "I can't tell you what to do, you're your own person, but don't do drugs."

What difficulty are you on? Also, don't neglect base facilities. Labs are important for faster researching, and research and satellites trump everything.

Got the comics~ It would be easier if I could paypal you the money tomorrow or this weekend. I'm not sure how paypal works though, but I do have one! That's a start I think

Selling "some" comic books

by Slothy on 06-16-2014 at 07:00 PM
I wanted to post this here in case any of you nerds were interested in purchasing some comics. After dragging my heels for more than a year because of how terrifying the thought of organizing them all was I'm finally starting to sell off most of my comic collection. I'll be keeping some things, but not much of it.

If anyone's interested you can check out my ad at this link:

Workout log: week 1

by Slothy on 06-22-2013 at 05:23 PM
I've been back to the gym for a little while now, but have been busy lately so I haven't been as consistent as I'd like. Figured starting a workout log might help to keep me on track to get there at least 3 days a week. Anyone who wants can feel free to post their workouts for the week in the comments as well if they want to partner up to keep each other motivated.

One thing which I won't post every single time is the warmup we do. We always warm up before starting strength work at

Would you like a copy of FTL: Faster Than Light?

by Slothy on 04-15-2013 at 01:31 PM
SC2 events seemed to fail to coalesce, so anyone interested in winning a copy of FTL: Faster Than Light on Steam just go to the events thread below and post. I'll be doing the draw on Friday and we're having an FTL get together this weekend which will include a special guest.

April Steam events: join for your chance to win free games

by Slothy on 04-07-2013 at 02:43 AM
Nope, I am not suddenly a spam bot (as far as I know).

I just wanted to mention for those that don't usually pay much attention to the Steam events that this month we're doing something a bit different. If you're able to join in for some games of Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm tomorrow, or FTL: Faster Than Light a few weeks from now, you'll have the chance to win FTL and the original Deus Ex.

You can check the thread linked below for the details. It should be lots
