You know, I went out of my way to point out that there is a legitimate, viable, logical defense for your position. I'm a little worried by the spite you've been throwing out lately. It's not like you, that's usually more my style. You okay, man?

I think I've found the reason that we never talk. It's because I'm an ignorant prick who doesn't reply. Sorry man.

I might start with a uke when I come to build. Surely it's less work! I got obsessed with the uke about five years ago when I started listening to Jake Shimabukuro. The guy is ridiculous. I made it my mission to learn his version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps. I've pretty much got it spot on now though it isn't quite as accomplished as his version! Think I'll take it up to Glasgow with me for the UK EoFF meet... along with my guitar, obviously!

I'm loving Mass Effect 2 at the minute. It's so much more polished than the original. Plus, the story and the environments (especially the environments!) were improved so much. I've hardly scratched the surface as well so I'm really excited for what's to come! Since getting the Normandy back I've only seen Omega but man... I reckon the rest is gonna be awesome!

Baby Bubba is teething quite badly which is causing sleepless nights for his mother. She's unfortunately a really light sleeper and I sleep like the dead. I've been doing what I can though. I get up at 6am so I can look after him before I go to work and give Sophie a lie-in. She has ME (not Mass Effect) as well so she get's tired very quickly. We're managing though. Baby Bubba is quite the character!

I'm heading to Glasgow in a couple of weeks to stay with Matt and Shauna for the unofficial UK EoFF meetup. Can't wait!

I'm still admiring your posts on the guitar-building thread. Sorry if I'm not saying much but it looks very complicated! I may use the guides you posted before I attempt it with Baby Bubba. I can see quite a few failures to start with!

What else is new with you?

You thought right! The second warning was enough for me not to look again though. If you feel like it though, fill your boots with some more!

By the time I reach the end of ME3, probably next year the speed I'm playing it, I'll probably have forgotten anyway

You know me too well, man!

I've been staring at that spoiler in the Mass Effect thread for days. I finally succumbed today only to be greeted by "seriously Bubba, don't read this" then another spoiler.

That was enough to convince me not to read the second one so cheers for that!

Hey! Maybe you'll be interested in this if you have some time to spare this weekend

We were having a fun chat, but were probably derailing the thread a little so I moved here. It made me go poke around the internets to see what other people may think, since I don't believe there's a clear right and wrong answer really.

Not sure if I agree with everything he's pondering, and I'm not sure if you'd agree with it either, but it's interesting to read different perspectives.

Oh. I missed the Ciddies again this year. Sorry. Just kind of worn out.

BTW, part of why I am against globalization is to protect you and your beliefs/cultures/ideals from my own.

Selling "some" comic books

by Slothy on 06-16-2014 at 07:00 PM
I wanted to post this here in case any of you nerds were interested in purchasing some comics. After dragging my heels for more than a year because of how terrifying the thought of organizing them all was I'm finally starting to sell off most of my comic collection. I'll be keeping some things, but not much of it.

If anyone's interested you can check out my ad at this link:

Workout log: week 1

by Slothy on 06-22-2013 at 05:23 PM
I've been back to the gym for a little while now, but have been busy lately so I haven't been as consistent as I'd like. Figured starting a workout log might help to keep me on track to get there at least 3 days a week. Anyone who wants can feel free to post their workouts for the week in the comments as well if they want to partner up to keep each other motivated.

One thing which I won't post every single time is the warmup we do. We always warm up before starting strength work at

Would you like a copy of FTL: Faster Than Light?

by Slothy on 04-15-2013 at 01:31 PM
SC2 events seemed to fail to coalesce, so anyone interested in winning a copy of FTL: Faster Than Light on Steam just go to the events thread below and post. I'll be doing the draw on Friday and we're having an FTL get together this weekend which will include a special guest.

April Steam events: join for your chance to win free games

by Slothy on 04-07-2013 at 02:43 AM
Nope, I am not suddenly a spam bot (as far as I know).

I just wanted to mention for those that don't usually pay much attention to the Steam events that this month we're doing something a bit different. If you're able to join in for some games of Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm tomorrow, or FTL: Faster Than Light a few weeks from now, you'll have the chance to win FTL and the original Deus Ex.

You can check the thread linked below for the details. It should be lots
