Actually, all the SO games have a collosal plot twist at the halfway point. Although, in 3's case, instead of finding out the Moores are you descendants or that the planet Expel gets kerfrumpled, you find out the world is really and MMORPG named after one of Claude's best swords. Go figure.

And don't compare it with the Matrix. Ugh. There are a crapload of other things with the simulated reality concept other than that, and they don't involve people in black coats that talk with no emotion.

What you mean The Matrix thing? Bah, I laughed when I found that out. No, I chortled! CHORTLED! Besides Star Ocean is only 10 minutes long if you take away its backtracking so don't get me frumpy on that situation. I believe I already made a colossaly dramatic user note about it.
