Honestly some of them are so small you might not even notice them, especially if you're walking around.

I wish I could win the lottery so I could study forever and travel all the time. But that would involve buying a ticket, and I'm too lazy to even do that.

Yeah I think people go there with weird expectations. They don't realize that it's a proper city with its own flaws, and not every part is beautiful. But I really loved it and would be so keen to go back.

I'm jealous that you lived there - I've never lived outside of NZ and I would love to do that, even if only for a while. Maybe that's why I've been a bit overzealous at researching places to go to study for my PhD, even though I haven't even finished my Masters yet :P
