Oh, I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience with the counseling >.<. That makes me a bit sad.

But I am glad that we can share this too

My boyfriend and I have agreed to raise him together (even though he is technically my son) and so we made the decision to leave it up to him to decide when he is older. And thank you . He doesn't look much like me, but he is handsome :P

Reading that, they are VERY cautious about it, which I understand, but there is some hope. Getting married in a Catholic Church is very important to me, so I'm glad to see this. I'll bookmark it and print it off and keep it somewhere should the issue arise in the future. I'm actually from a very Catholic part of Canada (then again, the whole country is largely Catholic :P) so I've never dated someone who wasn't a Catholic before, so this was a new issue to consider. I am glad to see they're trying to be accommodating. Let's face it, it's not a church that readily embraces change :P.

I was raised Catholic and I consider myself Catholic, but I was never officially baptized because my mother wanted it to be my decision. I actually was more of an agnostic in my teens (didn't know what I believed) but after having my son, I read the Bible and something just clicked for me. So I plan to be baptized when my son moves down because I would like him to be there for such an important event. I'm actually very excited about it

I brought up pre-marriage counseling to sharky at one point, and I didn't realize it was a Catholic thing :P. He got a bit offended because he thought it was like marriage counseling, meaning it was because we had problems to work though, and he was like "Why do you assume we'll have problems like that? That's a bit pessimistic." And I had to explain to him what it was. I think pre-marriage counseling is a great idea, especially since divorce is supposed to be forever, it is important to take it seriously and address these things before hand. He understood better after I explained :P. I honestly thought everyone went through it and everyone knew about it so I was shocked to find out he had never heard of it xD

Well that is really good to know. It could be they've neglected to list it here because they don't like it or whatever but if I approach them directly that could be very helpful, thank you!

His wedding was not recognized by the Catholic Church, no. But it may work differently here because I looked up at several Churches and they will under no circumstance marry someone who has been legally married before, or is not of Catholic faith. Plus a whole other list of reasons. I may try and speak with a Priest directly when the time comes and see if he would be willing.

Yeah, I am excited to get married one day, and I even have a theme and stuff picked out. I'm just a bit sad because if my current relationship leads to marriage (which I hope it does, one day) I won't be able to get married in a Catholic Church, which is important to me, because he is divorced.

I picked that prompt because I've written part of it and now I'm just hitting a wall. It doesn't want to finish. So I'm not sure how good it will be once I force it out :P
