I'm certified to teach high school English. Currently, I make pretzels for minimum wage in a mall, but I will hopefully soon find a teaching job. I either want to do that or I would like to write for a gaming or tech website/magazine. Or do anything with writing, really. I'd like to get published someday, but I have yet to even come close to finishing a novel, really. I seem to do better with short stories.

I haven't read much Urban fantasy, I don't think. Any suggestions on good urban fantasy I should read? And publishing actually probably will take luck and a miracle to some extent. You still have to be a good writer, but it really all comes down to sending your proposal letters to publishers at the right place at the right time with the right people. What's important is that you keep trying there, I think. Or you could self publish if you somehow gain a big enough readership through something like a blog or something, but self publication can be hard too. Anyways, good luck with writing the novel and hopefully publishing it someday!

I didn't even notice :P. Don't worry, I'm posting mine up soon and its a first draft and is just full of them.

Also, I would definitely read that blog. What you posted is very interesting, and I would like to read more of it.

It's in GC and it is for the ciddies. You claim a speech (or several) that you want to write and then PM it to Freya. There's about 23 hours left and still a lot of speeches need to be done. The first post has an index of all of the speeches, the red ones (minus best admin/developer, best thread and best post, because Freya hasn't updated the list yet) are the ones that need doing.

The speech is supposed to be about the award or the nominees for the award, but don't worry if its not great. I have a speech where I compare posts to Pokemon and another where I compare members to toasters. Really you just need to be creative.

I found the easiest way to write a speech is to just say "This is why I think this member is a good nominee for the award" and go through the members that are nominated.

I enjoyed what I read from your response to the prompt! I can't give much feedback at the moment just because I have a migraine and can't think straight, but I do like that you kind of respond to the prompt in two ways. Really, I'd say the main guy and the girlfriend interactions could count as a "fight" between mismatched opponents. Then you have the actual physical fight at the end. Either way, my gut response was that I liked it, and I'll try to give more details/feedback tomorrow when I hopefully feel better.

By the way, what kind of writing do you like to do/want to do? I know you said you want to be a professional writer!

I am okay/stressed. Need a job, cant find one, stagnant in life. Also there are many video games I want but cannot buy.

Getting a kitty Saturday though so that is super exciting.
