    Hi.
  2. View Conversation
I have quite the backlog to work on. I probably shouldn't be playing Persona1 but instead playing Soul Kackers or Persona Q since I'm in a MegaTen mood (or even finish SMT1) but I'm giving myself the excuse that I've never actually played through the Snow Queen Quest in P1.

There is definitely a list of games I could be playing but I'm just not in the mood to start something new. Of anything, I may jump back into my backlog of films I need to watch, especially since they help me to get around to writing more often.

    Not FFXIII bad

...assuming the Snow Queen quest doesn't occupy all my time.

Yeah, kind of sucks, cause now I don't know what to do with my free time. Maybe I'll get back to writing...

I beat the final boss last night, you know an ending is going to be long when the game asks you to save before watching it. That and I think the game is doing something similar to P4Golden and letting you have an extra month after the fact.

I stand by my assessment that P5 is basically the love child between P2 and P3, who grew up watching too much Lupin III. Though it got surprisingly mainline MegaTen towards the end.

As for P1, the real challenge will come when the Snow Queen Quest starts because Atlus is surprisingly cruel with that one. You have to collect shards of a mirror from three towers of varying diffiulty, but in order to unlock the whole parties Ultimate Personas, you have to start with the hardest dungeon first and work your way backwards. The level I need to be to get the Persons needed to survive the place, still puts me at half the level of all the demons within the place and it also makes healing items useless and has a mechanics where party members lose their ability to use their personas if killed or falling for one of the towers traps. You can only get them back by fighting Cerberus on a certain floor. Course, what's really neat about all of this is that this questline served as a the inspiration for P3.

In P5 News. I just defeated Char, who removed his mask to reveal he was lord Bane. He also rode a Gold LIon made of people. Besides that, I'm at the point where I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. We've beaten who appeared to be the main mastermind but there are too many questions left unanswered and I still have two story Confident stuck at 9. I'm was able to max out four more Confidants, two of which are my favorite party members.

In Persona 1 news, I'm trying to win coins at the casino so I can purchase decent weapons before I do the grinding needed to get two Personas needed for a Max Ambrosia Snow Queen Quest run.

More or less. I had extremely good luck because my first encounter with the dude ended with him one-shotting the MC, at which point I realized I had not saved since before that three part marathon boss battle, meaning I lost my whole evening, but as luck would have it, the game gave me the option to return to the start of Mementos instead (where the Reaper resides) so I quickly saved and tried again for victory!

I did recently summon Trumpeter, and as usual for the franchise, a bad guy pulls out a Persona I really want but probably won't get until the director's cut version.

    UGH!

My party is pulling a bit of a P4 on me and now ignoring me until I finish this dungeon, I can only finish the non-party member Confidants. This dungeon has also been a real test of endurance. The last stretch before the final boss has you fighting three bosses in a row. I also lost a really good Persona to a Fusion Accident, and while I got something decent for my troubles, it's something I can make now and ultimately better than the one I got.

On the brightside, I did beat the Reaper today by cheesing him. Which is probably for the best because as it stood, my party didn't stand a chance against them at their current level. My whole team gained six levels from beating him.

Part of your world

by Fynn on 06-06-2017 at 04:37 PM
So there's this nagging issue I've had for quite some time now. It's a pretty abstract issue but one I think is pretty interesting and perhaps even important to share nonetheless. For many reasons, it has only become more pronounced recently.

As some of you may know, I want to be a writer. I try to do as much writing as I can. I even do writing for a living, though as an SEO copywriter, it's not exactly that I have an opportunity to spread my creative wings as part of what keeps giving

On FFVII (part of my Fmarathon rant)

by Fynn on 11-23-2016 at 11:16 AM
Decided this is worthy of being a blog-post, since it turned out to be a much bigger rant than I expected and I'm not sure the marathon's audience is really there for that kind of stuff

Frustrations of the writerly sort

by Fynn on 07-01-2016 at 11:13 AM
So there's this thing I've been struggling for quite some time. I don't want to call it a "writer's block" because it kind of seems like an excuse for being lazy. And it usually doesn't last long. This is something that's been eating at me for a long time.

I just kinda feel that I can't write anymore.

I mean, I still write articles for the site sometimes and I write other texts at my work, but it seems like, creatively, I've dried up. I'll come up with ideas

On story expectations

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 11:57 AM
So this is kind of a general discussion, but the general rant I have is based on three popular 3DS RPGs: Bravely Default, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Shin Megami Tensei IV. Sorry if this is chaotic, as I'm just writing this as it comes into my mind. Also, spoilers from the three games abound.

All of those games were very well received, though for different reasons. SMT is kind of here to serve as a neutral ground, as the evaluation of its story is pretty divided, whereas the consensus

Character Appreciation: Junpei Iori

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 10:37 AM
This is in no way an idea I stole from Pumpkin, no siree.

Junpei Iori is a character from the Persona franchise. He first appears in Persona 3 and all of its subsequent releases as a playable party member. He becomes a social link character as well in the female path of Persona 3 Portable, though he isn't date-able. He is also playable in
