Hmmm... I could really suck at this but... count me in!

I like that they are kind of wacky. It doesn't help the series reminds me of Harvey Birdman: Attorney of Law, which itself got a Phoenix Wright knockoff game for the Wii some years back that I still need to play...

My main beef with PW was I would often figure out the final solution to solve the case before doing the minor puzzle work needed to reach that point. So I would keep trying to use the evidence needed to end the case but the game wouldn't accept it because I hadn't done the first part of the puzzle.

While I'm not a huge fan of Phoenix Wright, I got a lot of enjoyment out of the first game. I'm simply stuck on the last case because it's the obvious "addition" to the DS remake of the GBA version because the first four cases fit really well together, so I was less invested and kind of moved on before finishing it.

DQIX really didn't do it for me, it has it's moments, but I was pretty worn out by the end. It certainly has some bad ending fatigue, didn't help I was playing Xenosaga Eps. 3 at the same time and it has the same damn problem .

Technically Phoenix Wright is my next handheld game. I've been trying to finish up a bunch of games I started but never finished. I started with DQIX and RW was next, followed by Phoenix Wright and 4 Heroes of Light.

I know that feeling. Bloodborne has been consuming my time lately but I picked up Persona 5 not too long ago and know it will be my next game and will likely keep me from getting anything done for awhile. I'm so behind on my MegaTen games as well since I still have Soul Hackers, SMTIV:Final, and Persona Q to play through. I'm trying to finish up Revenant Wings at the moment but the game is so dull and I'm too stubborn to quit.

Well at least you'll be able to play the good entries of Xenosaga. Also I'm always pleased to have people play Nocturne. It's easily the most atmospheric entry for me and as time goes by, it just climbs higher on my imaginary list of favorite games.

Hell I was thinking of writing that list someday, which is why I replayed the Xenosaga franchise in the first place. I also need to get back to Wild ARMS.

I've kind of been doing that lately, though this small project has now turned into a very bizarre diary I guess. I fell out of practice with it when the gaming element took over. I replayed through all of Xenosaga and jumped into the Dark Souls series.

I'm trying to get back into the groove of writing but I'm also thinking of diving into other fields as well since I's starting to think I need some other outlets.

The lazy aspect has more to with poor choices. I got maybe a smidge of actual writing done while I was away, and instead finished about four games from my backlog and lately, I don't find gaming to be a good investment of my time. I just feel like I'm mismanaging my time too much. I feel super creative and want to do something when I'm forced to do something dull and can't be creative, but when I actually have free time I can't be bothered to do anything ans instead I kill my time reading TV tropes, watching Youtube videos or playing video games. It's been really frustrating. I spent my evening catching up on Forsaken Lover's MegaTen/Persona thread and I just keep thinking I should be writing, or mixing music, or designing something and instead I'm just reading old forum posts.

Well at least you've got that going, and while getting a new place is pretty scary with all the financial hooplah that makes it a pain in the ass, that in itself can be pretty exciting.

Part of your world

by Fynn on 06-06-2017 at 04:37 PM
So there's this nagging issue I've had for quite some time now. It's a pretty abstract issue but one I think is pretty interesting and perhaps even important to share nonetheless. For many reasons, it has only become more pronounced recently.

As some of you may know, I want to be a writer. I try to do as much writing as I can. I even do writing for a living, though as an SEO copywriter, it's not exactly that I have an opportunity to spread my creative wings as part of what keeps giving

On FFVII (part of my Fmarathon rant)

by Fynn on 11-23-2016 at 11:16 AM
Decided this is worthy of being a blog-post, since it turned out to be a much bigger rant than I expected and I'm not sure the marathon's audience is really there for that kind of stuff

Frustrations of the writerly sort

by Fynn on 07-01-2016 at 11:13 AM
So there's this thing I've been struggling for quite some time. I don't want to call it a "writer's block" because it kind of seems like an excuse for being lazy. And it usually doesn't last long. This is something that's been eating at me for a long time.

I just kinda feel that I can't write anymore.

I mean, I still write articles for the site sometimes and I write other texts at my work, but it seems like, creatively, I've dried up. I'll come up with ideas

On story expectations

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 11:57 AM
So this is kind of a general discussion, but the general rant I have is based on three popular 3DS RPGs: Bravely Default, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Shin Megami Tensei IV. Sorry if this is chaotic, as I'm just writing this as it comes into my mind. Also, spoilers from the three games abound.

All of those games were very well received, though for different reasons. SMT is kind of here to serve as a neutral ground, as the evaluation of its story is pretty divided, whereas the consensus

Character Appreciation: Junpei Iori

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 10:37 AM
This is in no way an idea I stole from Pumpkin, no siree.

Junpei Iori is a character from the Persona franchise. He first appears in Persona 3 and all of its subsequent releases as a playable party member. He becomes a social link character as well in the female path of Persona 3 Portable, though he isn't date-able. He is also playable in
