And Joe Merrick runs Serebii, the biggest and most reputable Pokémon fansite, so I thought it was worth watching that just for his opinion (everyone calls BS on the Deoxys caught with one Ultra Ball).

There's a review of the last three episodes. Skip to the last one to get their opinions, if you want.
Though terror is somewhat different across cultures, not to mention a very personal thing.

You're the first person I've run into who wasn't creeped out by the Old Chateau episode.

I definitely prefer the Type-0 demo over the changes made in the Platinum Demo. It's more streamlined in terms of combat even without access to magic. I think you'll be pretty please, the game feels like FFXII with a little bit (not too much) of Xenoblade mixed in, though that's mostly in terms of the streamlined missions system.

The demo has you doing a Mark Hunt but it's really cool and cinematic with you having to do a few things extra like discovering clues and then having to use some minor stealth to follow it back to the lair. There is also some plan set up to beat it or at least get a big edge on it but I kept screwing up and having to Ramuh his sorry ass cause the beast has a crap ton of health. Also summons are back to being overpowered super attacks and I'm a bit curious to see how they're going to work out in the main game cause they seem a bit OP at the moment.

I can honestly say that I feel the main cast was nailed perfectly in terms of their characterizations and party dynamics. The rest of the cast and story might end up being terrible when we finally get the full game, but I'm pretty sure most people will agree that the camaraderie of the main four was executed well.

The "random" encounters on the other hand can be a bit daunting, especially if you're trying to undertake a different mission. I was doing a Party Tour mission where Noctis teams up with only one character in the party to do a bonding mission. On my way to said mission I got notified of a new mission we could undertake on our way that involved eliminating some excess Garula Herds which was a bit challenging with just the two of us, but still doable. Up until the Imperial forces kept showing up and dropping off whole units of Magitek Knights on top of us making the fight a two against 20-30 which quickly got out of hand. Night time is also scary cause you face more powerful creatures and they can spawn almost everywhere. I spent one whole evening fighting an army of Goblins because I guess my party just happened to enter their spawn zone and a new group would spawn before I killed off the last group so running is advised sometimes.

I also like the concept of XP not being applied until you actually camp. It's a neat concept and actually forces you to slow down instead of endlessly grinding. I'm still debating if I like the meal mechanic.

I've been meaning to replay FFTA again. I started awhile back but kind of lost interest along the way in that playthrough. I need to get back to my FFVII playthrough but I ended up getting a copy of Type-0 which still had a working code for the XV demo so that's what I've been playing lately.

Be careful with the Morpher then. I know that there are two monsters that go "extinct" in the story, by which I mean it's impossible to encounter them after a certain point in the story. Both of them also have Blue Magic spells. I believe it was the Goblin and Elec Drake.

Honestly, you should check back after every area if you want to keep consistent or are going for a completion run but I would simply choose to either go back after you see something you want, or simply take advantage the times you have to go to the Veldt in the WoR.

Sadly, many of Gau's best Rages in the WoR are either in Kefka's Tower or will most likely be too difficult to defeat when you first get there.

Big mean brutish Incineroar I despise.

Derpy, desperate for hugs and love Incineroar I think I adore.

Too many to say really. Magic Pot is great for turning Gau into the best defensive healing unti in the game. Reatiner (can't remember his original name) gives you Leo's Shock move. Several minor monsters end up giving you eatlu access to high tier spells like Holy and -aga level spells. The Pteradon/Lesser Drake uses Fireball which is great. Stray Cat has a melee attack that ignores defense and does damage I think that's like 2x the user's attack power allowing Gau to murder enemies incredibly quickly. Behemoth does Meteor and Zombie Dragons do N. Cross. There are really too many good ones since he has over 200 different rages.

My advice is to either resort to an online guide, or experiment with monsters you liked to see what they do. I will tell you now to avoid Intangir as he uses a suicide move as his normal move.

Part of your world

by Fynn on 06-06-2017 at 04:37 PM
So there's this nagging issue I've had for quite some time now. It's a pretty abstract issue but one I think is pretty interesting and perhaps even important to share nonetheless. For many reasons, it has only become more pronounced recently.

As some of you may know, I want to be a writer. I try to do as much writing as I can. I even do writing for a living, though as an SEO copywriter, it's not exactly that I have an opportunity to spread my creative wings as part of what keeps giving

On FFVII (part of my Fmarathon rant)

by Fynn on 11-23-2016 at 11:16 AM
Decided this is worthy of being a blog-post, since it turned out to be a much bigger rant than I expected and I'm not sure the marathon's audience is really there for that kind of stuff

Frustrations of the writerly sort

by Fynn on 07-01-2016 at 11:13 AM
So there's this thing I've been struggling for quite some time. I don't want to call it a "writer's block" because it kind of seems like an excuse for being lazy. And it usually doesn't last long. This is something that's been eating at me for a long time.

I just kinda feel that I can't write anymore.

I mean, I still write articles for the site sometimes and I write other texts at my work, but it seems like, creatively, I've dried up. I'll come up with ideas

On story expectations

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 11:57 AM
So this is kind of a general discussion, but the general rant I have is based on three popular 3DS RPGs: Bravely Default, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Shin Megami Tensei IV. Sorry if this is chaotic, as I'm just writing this as it comes into my mind. Also, spoilers from the three games abound.

All of those games were very well received, though for different reasons. SMT is kind of here to serve as a neutral ground, as the evaluation of its story is pretty divided, whereas the consensus

Character Appreciation: Junpei Iori

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 10:37 AM
This is in no way an idea I stole from Pumpkin, no siree.

Junpei Iori is a character from the Persona franchise. He first appears in Persona 3 and all of its subsequent releases as a playable party member. He becomes a social link character as well in the female path of Persona 3 Portable, though he isn't date-able. He is also playable in
