And I got my neutral route! I just had to select every negative choice in Blasted and Infernal Tokyo, but I got it. Had to defeat the White. They were fairly easy except for White Hugo who kept using 'Naught Wave' to instant kill my demons. Mercifully, it kept me alive, but only me. So I had to frantically use summon stones to get my demons back to snuff.

Just made it back to Tokyo to meet Isabeau, who we haven't seen since forever. Nice to see her again, she was my favourite. I'm a bit stuck where to go next, though. She's given me the low-down about the imminent war in Kasumigaseki, and now... where next?

    I don't think so. Unfortunately.

Also, I decided I want to see an anime where the bad guys continuously win through the ridiculous deus ex powers of love and friendship.

And I had one. Either brilliant, or idiotic. Won't know until later. Can't talk about it because, potential company innovation thing. But, it seems like it COULD be a big idea.

Nothing was breaking. Ergo, nothing to fix. My job is to fix things. So, was in a bit of a holding pattern for a while.

I may have just erred in my gaming plans. I was hoping to finish up 4 Heroes of Light and move onto DQIX, but I was checking out a store going out of business and they had freaking Theatrythm Curtain Call brand new for about $10 and it's been on my wish list for awhile. So, picked that up and started tonight, but now I'm afraid I may have banished 4 Heroes of Light back into the backlog.

In my DDS news, I'm heading up Karma Tower and just beat down Jatayu and Garuda. Sera is not making this easier, and while the puzzle elements are amusing, I kind of wish the dungeon wasn't so damn long. I'm starting to get dungeon fatigue thanks to the damn Samsara tunnels and the optional bosses.

Ugh, so I made it all the way through Blasted and Infernal Tokyo...

Despite trying to be slightly chaotic, I must've ended up with a score of 0 or -1/+1, because when answering the final alignment question to the White, I get both Walter and Jonathan depending on the answer. I read up and that's a -10/+10. So I must be in that annoying neutral sweetspot.

Ugh. Oh well. I kept a save at the beginning of Blasted Tokyo, and there was an occasion or two where I picked a Law option, so I'll just be even more chaotic in my answers this time around and hopefully that'll give me the edge I need to be neutral. I'll just fastforward through scenes and do the bare minimum of fighting. I'll still do the quests though, because I'm a completionist like that. But I'll do them extra quick.

It is annoying, because there were a few fusions that I did that I'll now have to do again, but it isn't so bad. I'll catch up on my compendium filling after the lock where hopefully I'll have time.

Besides that, the story is great. So great, I'm doing it again. Yay.

I've been playing Pokemon X lately so if you see me online maybe we can finally make that trade. Also, could you tell me what my friend safari pokemon are? I just started getting into it and I want to post my info to try and get more friends.

    Oh, sorry for not responding!

With SMT, turns out we're in something called 'Blasted Tokyo'. I believe this is the past, or some alternate future. Either way, very bleak. I haven't progressed tooo much, just sweeping up some early new side-quests here.

With Kingdom Hearts II, I'm mopping up sidequests. Well, all I've done so far is the new Mushroom XIII, a collection of (mostly) fun mini-games.

Mr. Carny has started KH I (FM) for the first time, and I couldn't resist so I've started up a file myself. A new thing with 1.5: the triangle button is back! Which honestly makes things much easier. I remember playing original KH and never using the 'special attacks' like strike raid because of how clumsy they are to use.

Part of your world

by Fynn on 06-06-2017 at 04:37 PM
So there's this nagging issue I've had for quite some time now. It's a pretty abstract issue but one I think is pretty interesting and perhaps even important to share nonetheless. For many reasons, it has only become more pronounced recently.

As some of you may know, I want to be a writer. I try to do as much writing as I can. I even do writing for a living, though as an SEO copywriter, it's not exactly that I have an opportunity to spread my creative wings as part of what keeps giving

On FFVII (part of my Fmarathon rant)

by Fynn on 11-23-2016 at 11:16 AM
Decided this is worthy of being a blog-post, since it turned out to be a much bigger rant than I expected and I'm not sure the marathon's audience is really there for that kind of stuff

Frustrations of the writerly sort

by Fynn on 07-01-2016 at 11:13 AM
So there's this thing I've been struggling for quite some time. I don't want to call it a "writer's block" because it kind of seems like an excuse for being lazy. And it usually doesn't last long. This is something that's been eating at me for a long time.

I just kinda feel that I can't write anymore.

I mean, I still write articles for the site sometimes and I write other texts at my work, but it seems like, creatively, I've dried up. I'll come up with ideas

On story expectations

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 11:57 AM
So this is kind of a general discussion, but the general rant I have is based on three popular 3DS RPGs: Bravely Default, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Shin Megami Tensei IV. Sorry if this is chaotic, as I'm just writing this as it comes into my mind. Also, spoilers from the three games abound.

All of those games were very well received, though for different reasons. SMT is kind of here to serve as a neutral ground, as the evaluation of its story is pretty divided, whereas the consensus

Character Appreciation: Junpei Iori

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 10:37 AM
This is in no way an idea I stole from Pumpkin, no siree.

Junpei Iori is a character from the Persona franchise. He first appears in Persona 3 and all of its subsequent releases as a playable party member. He becomes a social link character as well in the female path of Persona 3 Portable, though he isn't date-able. He is also playable in
