There fine if you don't want to re-level them again since Sage is a pretty overpowered class and getting one early is always a good idea. Of anything, you can use the Zen Scroll (or whatever it got renamed in this game) to skip Jester for your cleric and just make them a Sage to save time.

I'd make him a Fighter actually and then a Jester then Sage. You probably do want to make both mages into Sages eventually but you can make on of them magic focus and the other melee focus since Sage is basically like the Hero class but learns all of the magic of the Cleric and Mage.
  3. Interesting. I miss being academic. I once wrote an undergraduate essay on the male and female gothic
So the article? Where are you posting?
  4. What is the subject of your thesis?
And where are you posting the article? Which forum I mean? I need something good to read.
  5. Lol. Midgar Mist likes to come out of left field.
Btw I've finished my FF9 fan fic draft so once I'm at a computer again I will copy and paste off my USB.

I have heard good things about The Sims 4, but there are too many negatives that feel regressive. Removing toddlers is just a stupid decision all around, as is the decision to remove create-a-style which really got my interior decorator vibe in me going. I mean, CASt revolutionised the interior design aspect of the game for me and gave you much more choice in practice than you ever had, and removing it and toddlerdom seems... strange.

There are things that have improved, just create-a-sim, some building aspects, but the removal of open world travelling is another regression. Having said that, conversation improvements (particularly in the department of multi-sim conversations) and multitasking are very much welcome. The emotion system does seem interesting as well.

Basically, Sims 4 will always look bad in my eyes because Sims 3 exists. I can probably forgive the lack of open worldness if everything else has improved, and while a few things have been smoothed out, several blatantly obvious omissions does leave me hurting. If they end up adding this back in, I might grab it, but Sims 3 is a perfectly good game.

I've heard negative things about the Sims 4, and I have the Sims 3 which is well enough. Have you?

Anyway, I've finished the Ueno quest. I now need to head over the bridge. I'm struck by how dystopian everything is; a real contrast to Mikado. Less striking is how at ease everyone is about it. The odd 'surprised' remark and that's it, their mind is totally not blown by this whole other world.

    As you say, Fynn.

Anyway, SMT IV is heating up. I'm now in Tokyo; the surprise didn't really happen because the game pretty much told me in one of the manuals. But still, pretty striking. I'm guessing we're led to believe that Mikado is on... the ceiling, then?

I can't remember... The pyramid does have a cursed weapon that makes it harder though. There is a great weapon for the Fighter but it makes you go into a battle for each step you take within the pyramid as long as it is in your inventory. The curse lifts once you leave the pyramid (in the remakes at least) but it can be a nightmare if you're unprepared.

Part of your world

by Fynn on 06-06-2017 at 04:37 PM
So there's this nagging issue I've had for quite some time now. It's a pretty abstract issue but one I think is pretty interesting and perhaps even important to share nonetheless. For many reasons, it has only become more pronounced recently.

As some of you may know, I want to be a writer. I try to do as much writing as I can. I even do writing for a living, though as an SEO copywriter, it's not exactly that I have an opportunity to spread my creative wings as part of what keeps giving

On FFVII (part of my Fmarathon rant)

by Fynn on 11-23-2016 at 11:16 AM
Decided this is worthy of being a blog-post, since it turned out to be a much bigger rant than I expected and I'm not sure the marathon's audience is really there for that kind of stuff

Frustrations of the writerly sort

by Fynn on 07-01-2016 at 11:13 AM
So there's this thing I've been struggling for quite some time. I don't want to call it a "writer's block" because it kind of seems like an excuse for being lazy. And it usually doesn't last long. This is something that's been eating at me for a long time.

I just kinda feel that I can't write anymore.

I mean, I still write articles for the site sometimes and I write other texts at my work, but it seems like, creatively, I've dried up. I'll come up with ideas

On story expectations

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 11:57 AM
So this is kind of a general discussion, but the general rant I have is based on three popular 3DS RPGs: Bravely Default, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Shin Megami Tensei IV. Sorry if this is chaotic, as I'm just writing this as it comes into my mind. Also, spoilers from the three games abound.

All of those games were very well received, though for different reasons. SMT is kind of here to serve as a neutral ground, as the evaluation of its story is pretty divided, whereas the consensus

Character Appreciation: Junpei Iori

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 10:37 AM
This is in no way an idea I stole from Pumpkin, no siree.

Junpei Iori is a character from the Persona franchise. He first appears in Persona 3 and all of its subsequent releases as a playable party member. He becomes a social link character as well in the female path of Persona 3 Portable, though he isn't date-able. He is also playable in
