    1. I don't have a PSP. 2. I'm way more likely to enjoy it if I get hooked on Persona through P4 enough to not mind the less engaging gameplay in favor of a good story.

I'm supposedly getting Persona 4 although since it's my brother who's planning on gifting it to me it may take a few more weeks. Or months.

Getting any other kind of case would be weird at this point, though ^^

Honestly, Ace Attorney 5 was pretty predictable. They basically stuck to the formula to a T. Dai Gyakuten Saiban on the other hand looks interesting so it's pretty sad it probably won't get a localization. Oh and I heard AAI2 is really damn good. Too bad I spoiled it for myself.

I'll be sticking to my Danganronpas and Zero Escapes

  4. I will sometime maybe. In fact I've got an FF9 fan fiction in the pipeline that I was thinking of posting straight onto Timber Maniacs HQ
Is that something I can jump into or should I work up to that a little more?

I slept alright but I woke up being bombarded with things to do and I am stressing right out

Alright then. You seem to agree that the concept is gripping as hell so I'll skip over that. Quite frankly I think the major reason it's as successful as it is is because of its characters. Phoenix is easy to relate to and like and Edgeworth is one of the most beloved deuteragonists out there. Not to mention Godot. The others, from Maya to Pearl to side characters, are all the kinds of characters found a lot in anime culture, really, each with their own exaggerated personality traits, (over)dramatic moments and quirks with not a whole lot of subtlety to speak of. To a certain degree it's a matter of if you prefer expressiveness over subtlety or the other way round. If you're the type to easily get attached to people's problems while roleplaying as someone whose job is to solve them... well, Ace Attorney is pretty good at reeling you in.

Besides the 4th and 5th cases of each game the series also never dabbles too deep into (arguably) interesting mysteries and motives. If that's all you like, the first three cases of any given game are gonna be boring.

I'd also say it largely depends on how much you get invested/engaged in the mysteries. Best level of engagement is comparatively low so that you're strung along by the story; too much and you solve things way before the game expects you to which probably sours the experience at least somewhat. Getting hit hard by a twist is usually a thing to remember, especially when in hindsight you see how obvious it really was.

The fact that you didn't enjoy the humor is surely a factor as well =P

FTR I'd say don't bother pursuing the series any further. It's not changing up its formula anytime soon. The Investigations spin-off is the only one I might consider recommending because it does have a slightly different atmosphere but... it's still Ace Attorney through and through.
  9. Writing mainly, but I'm also beginning to grow as an artist. I attend an art therapy group every tuesday. I've been going nuts over christmas not being able to attend it due to the inevitable mass shutdown of society in that period
  10. You see? Good advice right there. I think this site will help me. Not just one thing about it but many things about it. It gives meaning to my creative talent like nothing else has done. I've already felt inspired and a little less confused. The society l live in does not reward creativity all that easily, it looks out for the scientists, mathematicians, IT Experts, business people and bankers. I'm a right brained person living in a dull left brained world. But on here I've perhaps found the beginnings of inspiration for a decent career for once

Part of your world

by Fynn on 06-06-2017 at 04:37 PM
So there's this nagging issue I've had for quite some time now. It's a pretty abstract issue but one I think is pretty interesting and perhaps even important to share nonetheless. For many reasons, it has only become more pronounced recently.

As some of you may know, I want to be a writer. I try to do as much writing as I can. I even do writing for a living, though as an SEO copywriter, it's not exactly that I have an opportunity to spread my creative wings as part of what keeps giving

On FFVII (part of my Fmarathon rant)

by Fynn on 11-23-2016 at 11:16 AM
Decided this is worthy of being a blog-post, since it turned out to be a much bigger rant than I expected and I'm not sure the marathon's audience is really there for that kind of stuff

Frustrations of the writerly sort

by Fynn on 07-01-2016 at 11:13 AM
So there's this thing I've been struggling for quite some time. I don't want to call it a "writer's block" because it kind of seems like an excuse for being lazy. And it usually doesn't last long. This is something that's been eating at me for a long time.

I just kinda feel that I can't write anymore.

I mean, I still write articles for the site sometimes and I write other texts at my work, but it seems like, creatively, I've dried up. I'll come up with ideas

On story expectations

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 11:57 AM
So this is kind of a general discussion, but the general rant I have is based on three popular 3DS RPGs: Bravely Default, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Shin Megami Tensei IV. Sorry if this is chaotic, as I'm just writing this as it comes into my mind. Also, spoilers from the three games abound.

All of those games were very well received, though for different reasons. SMT is kind of here to serve as a neutral ground, as the evaluation of its story is pretty divided, whereas the consensus

Character Appreciation: Junpei Iori

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 10:37 AM
This is in no way an idea I stole from Pumpkin, no siree.

Junpei Iori is a character from the Persona franchise. He first appears in Persona 3 and all of its subsequent releases as a playable party member. He becomes a social link character as well in the female path of Persona 3 Portable, though he isn't date-able. He is also playable in
