Also don't worry about team configuration as you can actually change your teams while you're in the dungeon when you go to special points.

End game for sure. With the right spells and gear it's pretty manageable as the boss battles are more puzzle oriented than straight up brawls.

Yeh FF13 has the worst characters imo, even FF1 had better guys, they had no personality, but at least they look appealing in appearance. FF2 even has a great group of heroes like Minwu.

"Don't be a dick" should be a motto all should live by.

And on that note, I think I really should go the bed. Again, an absolute pleasure speaking with you.

Some of the catty, backhanded jokes some protestants make about Catholics are pretty offensive, in my opinion. Yes, we get it, bad things happened. A joke was made at the CU once. I forget the details, it was some time ago and it wasn't so bad, but it did make me go slightly off the speaker.

How I see it, I don't really have a denomination. We all believe in Christ right? That's the important thing. Ecumenism is such an important thing. I do think there is something to be learned in all religions. We shouldn't just discard all of Islam or Judaism for example. There are some important points in those and other religions that can be useful to all of us.

    Ultimately, I'm a free spirit and I go off-piste.

Thanks Fynn, it is people like you, Pumpkin and some of my Christian friends in University which keeps me going. There are times when I just feel, done, with the whole thing.

As an aside, I do find it pretty funny when people from one denomination would say 'convert' from another denomination. I never really took much stock in denominations, to be honest. They're different, yes, but we all ultimately believe the same thing (even if I don't very much care for the more... conservative denominations). I like to think of them as different flavors of yogurt. But it is all still yogurt.

Up there with unicorns, I think.

You are right, Fynn. Maybe I am more critical of the Church than other Christians because I know what it is like to not be a Christian, therefore I know how bloody annoying it is to be Bible Bashed or passively-aggressively be attempted to convert, or be told God "loves you but with some caveats". People who were raised Christian, in a Church or in a family, don't experience that so much I guess.

And I know what it is like to be horribly burned by a church as well, and then to have that repeated again and again by 'x' church in America or where-ever doing another crazy anti-gay sermon or whatever. I'm very quick to challenge the Church. I guess I never was a particularly 'loyal' Christian. I wear my rebel label with pride.

The church should do more than just change with the times, it should be leading the change, taking charge. If we are ever to convince people that the Church, Christianity, heck, religion in general is a beneficial force in the world, it really must step up and be a voice.

I can only do my best and be the best Christian I can be to my friends and peers. Heck, a bisexual Christian in and of itself is an oxymoron to some people, I'm breaking down long held beliefs just by existing.

These super-macho men are... dare I say it? Insecure?

It even bleeds into things like childcare. The notion that men are simply less well equipped to raise a child means that women do the lionshare and men can't have such a deep emotional bond with their children. Because they're not supposed to be the main childrearer, of course. To be honest, Christianity has had some part to play in this, which hugely disappoints me.

'No Homo' really bothers me. It's like: can you say express feeling and tenderness to another man without having to go all "full disclaimer: I'm not gay!". That men should be emotionally stoic is laughable, as well as dangerous!

    Curse the patriarchy!

Part of your world

by Fynn on 06-06-2017 at 04:37 PM
So there's this nagging issue I've had for quite some time now. It's a pretty abstract issue but one I think is pretty interesting and perhaps even important to share nonetheless. For many reasons, it has only become more pronounced recently.

As some of you may know, I want to be a writer. I try to do as much writing as I can. I even do writing for a living, though as an SEO copywriter, it's not exactly that I have an opportunity to spread my creative wings as part of what keeps giving

On FFVII (part of my Fmarathon rant)

by Fynn on 11-23-2016 at 11:16 AM
Decided this is worthy of being a blog-post, since it turned out to be a much bigger rant than I expected and I'm not sure the marathon's audience is really there for that kind of stuff

Frustrations of the writerly sort

by Fynn on 07-01-2016 at 11:13 AM
So there's this thing I've been struggling for quite some time. I don't want to call it a "writer's block" because it kind of seems like an excuse for being lazy. And it usually doesn't last long. This is something that's been eating at me for a long time.

I just kinda feel that I can't write anymore.

I mean, I still write articles for the site sometimes and I write other texts at my work, but it seems like, creatively, I've dried up. I'll come up with ideas

On story expectations

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 11:57 AM
So this is kind of a general discussion, but the general rant I have is based on three popular 3DS RPGs: Bravely Default, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Shin Megami Tensei IV. Sorry if this is chaotic, as I'm just writing this as it comes into my mind. Also, spoilers from the three games abound.

All of those games were very well received, though for different reasons. SMT is kind of here to serve as a neutral ground, as the evaluation of its story is pretty divided, whereas the consensus

Character Appreciation: Junpei Iori

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 10:37 AM
This is in no way an idea I stole from Pumpkin, no siree.

Junpei Iori is a character from the Persona franchise. He first appears in Persona 3 and all of its subsequent releases as a playable party member. He becomes a social link character as well in the female path of Persona 3 Portable, though he isn't date-able. He is also playable in
