I know. But you can always bank them and use them again in other playthroughs and such. You're just giving them a break after they fainted.

Or, if you want, don't use the "permadeath" part. But try the rest of it. Because it really does let you get s new insight into Pokemon that you might normally overlook or ignore.

Oh, I know. I was salty for a couple hours after my first one fainted. To a battle that had never given me any trouble before.

I actually have a completely different head canon for how Nuzlockes work, though. Pokemon don't die. They just lose faith in you as a trainer, and refuse to fight for you anymore. That's why they continue to do things like Cut and Surf for you. They still like you, they just don't trust your skill in battle. You failed them, and they watch on in disappointment. Some trainers release them into the wild after this, unable to stand the distrustful looks. But I still care for my Pokemon, and I keep them with me, even if they won't fight.

Pokemon can survive having reality torn asunder with no permanent effects. You really think an Ember is going to kill them?

Well that's cool. I should probably get back to that FFVI translation project I started years ago when I was doing my Japanese studies. Nah, I'll probably forget about it for now and work on something else I've been putting off longer.

The Book of Life is a pretty cute movie. I love how it really embraces Central American religion and themes. The plot isn't too bad either.

Also, my current Pokemon Nuzlocke is something I'm calling a Neverlocke. You have to give up your starter as soon as you catch another Pokemon, and on each Route, you're only allowed to catch the encounter there that you have used the LEAST in the past. In XY, this is great because of how varied the encounters are on the different Routes.

So I just picked up a Doduo. And I nicknamed it Cerbirdus in expectation of its evolution.

Some people have a hard time noticing subtle body language. Frankly the picture in the thread is all you need as I doubt a "close friendship/working relationship" would tolerate trying to cop a feel.
