Yeah both X and XIII were a mess.

First ten are done. I'm out of space now too. I'm probably going to transfer some of my boxes to my Pokémon bank in order to get more room. Currently I'm just tearing through using my pre-trained fighters as breed stock. Since I'm not worrying about Egg Move distribution or IV distribution, it's going pretty quickly. I mean, I already have the Natures set on those guys, and the breed partners available as well, thanks to my perfect IV Ditto.

This has the potential to be unbalanced as heck, though. Everyone is getting my favorites. And that encompasses a really, really wide range across most of the tiers.

Well, if the Pokémon evolves via a normal item, like a Thunderstone, I'm ok with that. But what about Porygon? Trade it with the Up-Grade, then trade it with the Dubious Disc? Both of which can only be acquired in post-game? Seems kind of restrictive. There's also Pokémon like Gligar, who evolve via leveling up at night holding a Razor Fang. Again, a post-game only item. I don't mind handing out those items or anything, but I'm not sure how to account for it in the training period.

Yes, Old Pumpkin gave me a link earlier. I may be up for it. When you guys starting?

Keep an eye on the thread too, because I'll be posting info that I feel is worthwhile for everyone over there.

Are we going to use Flat Rules, or Standard Rules? Flat Rules will set every Pokémon involved to level 50, so the training will be more about moves than levels. In Standard Rules, Pokémon above level 50 will be set to level 50, but Pokémon below level 50 will remain whatever level they are when the battle starts.

One of the reasons why I love Pokémon is that I get to help other players by breeding them Pokémon and such instead of just fighting them. I hate competition in most games. Mostly because I suck.

I'm doing some testing on the battle setups really quick, then I'm going to pop into the thread with some more info.

Yeah, but that means that I might lose! My Pokémon might faint! I hate it when that happens!

But, yeah, we'll see. I guess it depends on how many Pokémon I breed before I get tired of it.

Yeah... I am thinking I might not participate. It's going to be really easy for me to cheat and pick/keep my favorites/strongest for myself. I'm also just not the most competitive person in general. So I'll do the breeding, but I'm not sure I'll actually compete.

Besides, XY are much better games than ORAS.

Well I was playing the game but it somehow overlapped in to the real world, although it still acted like and was treated like a game. So the stuff would be in the real world, but I could turn it off and stuff. I don't remember all of it, but there was one part I remember.

There was a scene where Junpei said he was going to quit the group, and it triggered a boss fight, but I lost. But then another shadow showed up and I lost to both. And everytime I would lose, they would multiply and there were like 4 really powerful ones running around the house/HQ. But I couldn't beat them and I was so frustrated because I couldn't get to the save or rest or anything because they were there.

There was some unrelated to persona stuff too, but you know how hard it is to remember all details in dreams!

Part of your world

by Fynn on 06-06-2017 at 04:37 PM
So there's this nagging issue I've had for quite some time now. It's a pretty abstract issue but one I think is pretty interesting and perhaps even important to share nonetheless. For many reasons, it has only become more pronounced recently.

As some of you may know, I want to be a writer. I try to do as much writing as I can. I even do writing for a living, though as an SEO copywriter, it's not exactly that I have an opportunity to spread my creative wings as part of what keeps giving

On FFVII (part of my Fmarathon rant)

by Fynn on 11-23-2016 at 11:16 AM
Decided this is worthy of being a blog-post, since it turned out to be a much bigger rant than I expected and I'm not sure the marathon's audience is really there for that kind of stuff

Frustrations of the writerly sort

by Fynn on 07-01-2016 at 11:13 AM
So there's this thing I've been struggling for quite some time. I don't want to call it a "writer's block" because it kind of seems like an excuse for being lazy. And it usually doesn't last long. This is something that's been eating at me for a long time.

I just kinda feel that I can't write anymore.

I mean, I still write articles for the site sometimes and I write other texts at my work, but it seems like, creatively, I've dried up. I'll come up with ideas

On story expectations

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 11:57 AM
So this is kind of a general discussion, but the general rant I have is based on three popular 3DS RPGs: Bravely Default, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Shin Megami Tensei IV. Sorry if this is chaotic, as I'm just writing this as it comes into my mind. Also, spoilers from the three games abound.

All of those games were very well received, though for different reasons. SMT is kind of here to serve as a neutral ground, as the evaluation of its story is pretty divided, whereas the consensus

Character Appreciation: Junpei Iori

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 10:37 AM
This is in no way an idea I stole from Pumpkin, no siree.

Junpei Iori is a character from the Persona franchise. He first appears in Persona 3 and all of its subsequent releases as a playable party member. He becomes a social link character as well in the female path of Persona 3 Portable, though he isn't date-able. He is also playable in
