I did pick the girl. One part creeped me out a bit but otherwise it's been okay. I kind of hate the music though :<

There was this one random girl and she had a face picture and she was super pretty but I haven't seen her since

I played a little bit and have met no one under those names! They all have Japanese names but I'm bad with names and I keep forgetting who is who until I see them. I did the first fight and it was pretty easy.

It told me I had a year but the time is going by very quickly. But I'm still in the tutorial mode so I guess it's supposed to? I like how many interactive choices there are though and I've been picking stuff I would pick if I were in the situation

The troubles of being a gamer

I need to get life stuff done soon but for now it's all on hiatus until stuff so I'm piling on the games while I can!

Sounds like you're having fun with your game!

I have a ton of games I could recommend, just depends what you're in the mood for!

I agree. Sometimes it's nice to shift the focus to the other characters

The first one is Xbox 360 and the other two are also available on PS3. That does sound like an interesting resolution to a love rectangle I like how more people just keep joining in

Also, I got this super cheap silly game on steam called Kitty Powers Matchmaker a while ago so I decided to try it out. Oh my gosh it's funny. You basically have clients you need to set up on dates based on taste and interest and then you do little mini-games and a while later it'll tell you if they broke up or whatever. And it does have gay options! One of my favourite couples had like 5 kids but another couple I really liked broke up :/

It's not very deep but it is some silly fun

In the first Agarest War game you play through 5 generations (it's a looooong game), in the second (Agarest Zero, a prequel) you have 2 generations, and in Agarest 2 you have 3 generations.

Each generation you have 3 bachelorettes. You get points towards you relationships with them by selections you make in game. Sometimes these are obvious, like "Who do you want to take a walk with, girl A, B, or C?" so you know what you'll end up with. On the other hand, decisions that don't directly involve them also affect the relationships. Like "The enemy has moved troops to the frontline. Do you A) charge the frontline B) sneak around the side C) withdraw for now?". And your decision will affect who gets affection points because some women might value cation or some might value courage more. And the points aren't the most straightforward. Like picking option A might increase girl 1's relationship by 1 and girl 2's by 2 and it will take a point away from girl 3. So I do like taht it's a bit less obvious who you'll end up with if you don't use a guide.

The girl you end up with also ends up being the mother of the hero of the next generation who will be matched with one of the next 3 bachelorettes

Gen 1: A) Girl who's village was destroyed and her family killed. She's very angry and hell bent on revenge. B) Was also orphaned in the war. She does her best to act cheerful, but she's very violent underneath it, she just hides it better. C) A childhood friend of the hero who ends up his enemy before taking a moral stand. The first generation suffers from pushing you too much towards one character and leaving the other two with little development.
Gen 2: A) Childhood friend who tries to kill you after you become an outlaw. B) A priestess whose village you saved. Very sweet but shy. C) A skilled fighter, very flirtatious and mischievous, but underneath it she hates the war she's forced to fight. Two of the bachelorettes in gen 2 were incredibly well written and I had a hard time picking a favourite.

Gen 3 so far suffers from having the third bachelorette feeling a bit disjointed from the story compared to the other two, but the characters are good overall.

Agarest Zero only has two generations, so less matchmaking but more time to get to know your potential partners.

I might have to play a dude in Baldur's Gate then it sounds like. At least they do have a lesbian option!

Honestly in my game I'd be happy with either 3 ladies in gen 3. The first 2 there was always one girl I absolutely did not want to end up with, but I'm good with all of them this time around. Wonder how gen 4 is going to be

Personally for yours I'd go with number 2 or 4, but I almost always prefer romancing ladies (except Frederick in FE:A). They seem to interest me the most. Probably number 4 but you said that might be too typical for you so then my second would be number 2. But the gay option might be pretty interesting to try!

Part of your world

by Fynn on 06-06-2017 at 04:37 PM
So there's this nagging issue I've had for quite some time now. It's a pretty abstract issue but one I think is pretty interesting and perhaps even important to share nonetheless. For many reasons, it has only become more pronounced recently.

As some of you may know, I want to be a writer. I try to do as much writing as I can. I even do writing for a living, though as an SEO copywriter, it's not exactly that I have an opportunity to spread my creative wings as part of what keeps giving

On FFVII (part of my Fmarathon rant)

by Fynn on 11-23-2016 at 11:16 AM
Decided this is worthy of being a blog-post, since it turned out to be a much bigger rant than I expected and I'm not sure the marathon's audience is really there for that kind of stuff

Frustrations of the writerly sort

by Fynn on 07-01-2016 at 11:13 AM
So there's this thing I've been struggling for quite some time. I don't want to call it a "writer's block" because it kind of seems like an excuse for being lazy. And it usually doesn't last long. This is something that's been eating at me for a long time.

I just kinda feel that I can't write anymore.

I mean, I still write articles for the site sometimes and I write other texts at my work, but it seems like, creatively, I've dried up. I'll come up with ideas

On story expectations

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 11:57 AM
So this is kind of a general discussion, but the general rant I have is based on three popular 3DS RPGs: Bravely Default, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Shin Megami Tensei IV. Sorry if this is chaotic, as I'm just writing this as it comes into my mind. Also, spoilers from the three games abound.

All of those games were very well received, though for different reasons. SMT is kind of here to serve as a neutral ground, as the evaluation of its story is pretty divided, whereas the consensus

Character Appreciation: Junpei Iori

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 10:37 AM
This is in no way an idea I stole from Pumpkin, no siree.

Junpei Iori is a character from the Persona franchise. He first appears in Persona 3 and all of its subsequent releases as a playable party member. He becomes a social link character as well in the female path of Persona 3 Portable, though he isn't date-able. He is also playable in
