Yeah, I've been wracking my brain over how to resolve this issue and the only thing I can think of would be to re-enact the FCC Fairness Doctrine, which itself would be hugely controversial in this partisan time frame and likely die in the courts. Sadly, I feel it's too late to save Trump's cult. Between them and the QAanon crazies it's hard to imagine a way to get them to look at reason. I feel it's sad to remember fondly back on when the Republican party was just manipulative and war mongering. To watch them get so radicalized in the last decade has been scary. I thought it was simply a backlash against Obama, but under Trump, I see there really are just a large swaths of people who are convinced the country has to go back to some ultra religious conservative fairy tale version of America.

It's disappointing talking to my dad reminisce about how he wished America was more like he remembered it in the 50s as a child or from shows like Leave it to Beaver or Father Knows Best. I grew up in the 80s, but at least I hold no delusions it was a politically fraught time frame I hope we never go back to.

I know it's been growing across the world. I have a friend from the Philippines and we discuss how her country has been doing under their own nationalist asshole. Of anything, it just shows that o all the possible future scenarios in media, Front Mission might have been the closest to reality since it's whole story framework is about the rise of nationalism in an increasingly globalist world. Not helped that the American right is terrified of globalism thanks to the radical interpretations of Revelations in the Bible. They see any form of globalism as a sign of the anti-christ and the end times, so it's amazing to watch them swing so hard towards nationalism and fascism to counter it.

I feel at this point, I need Trump to lose not so much because he's a terrible leader (which he is) but because I need to restore some faith in my own country. I was being a bit too optimistic going into this election and hoping for a blowout. But apparently my country really is filled with enough people who blindly believe what our partisan media tells them, and that has been the most disappointing thing about this year in general.

I'm feeling a bit better now that Georgia of all places has started leaning blue and Pennsylvania is also looking to go sometime tomorrow. I'm hoping this election ends with a 306 to 232 split with Biden winning.

I do better with one on one conversations.

I'll think about it. I'm still edgy about the election right now.

That is an amusing reason to share, but I do like Pipe Organs so it was still an interesting listen.

Yeah a bunch of crap on my wishlist went on sale for steam, but I'm better at ignoring them since I'm notorious for not playing any of my steam games. I mean I still have a dozen other games on there I haven't even touched.

Yeah, since it's the complete Seekers set it's a pretty good bargain at $11.

I might. XI actually just went on sale today for the whole collection on Steam and I am slightly tempted since I doubt I could reinstall the copy I have based on it being built for Windows XP. Yeah, I was doing some research on some of the high profile Ivalice team members and more or less discovered the majority of them got absorbed into the XIV team.

Part of your world

by Fynn on 06-06-2017 at 05:37 PM
So there's this nagging issue I've had for quite some time now. It's a pretty abstract issue but one I think is pretty interesting and perhaps even important to share nonetheless. For many reasons, it has only become more pronounced recently.

As some of you may know, I want to be a writer. I try to do as much writing as I can. I even do writing for a living, though as an SEO copywriter, it's not exactly that I have an opportunity to spread my creative wings as part of what keeps giving

On FFVII (part of my Fmarathon rant)

by Fynn on 11-23-2016 at 12:16 PM
Decided this is worthy of being a blog-post, since it turned out to be a much bigger rant than I expected and I'm not sure the marathon's audience is really there for that kind of stuff

Frustrations of the writerly sort

by Fynn on 07-01-2016 at 12:13 PM
So there's this thing I've been struggling for quite some time. I don't want to call it a "writer's block" because it kind of seems like an excuse for being lazy. And it usually doesn't last long. This is something that's been eating at me for a long time.

I just kinda feel that I can't write anymore.

I mean, I still write articles for the site sometimes and I write other texts at my work, but it seems like, creatively, I've dried up. I'll come up with ideas

On story expectations

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 12:57 PM
So this is kind of a general discussion, but the general rant I have is based on three popular 3DS RPGs: Bravely Default, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Shin Megami Tensei IV. Sorry if this is chaotic, as I'm just writing this as it comes into my mind. Also, spoilers from the three games abound.

All of those games were very well received, though for different reasons. SMT is kind of here to serve as a neutral ground, as the evaluation of its story is pretty divided, whereas the consensus

Character Appreciation: Junpei Iori

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 11:37 AM
This is in no way an idea I stole from Pumpkin, no siree.

Junpei Iori is a character from the Persona franchise. He first appears in Persona 3 and all of its subsequent releases as a playable party member. He becomes a social link character as well in the female path of Persona 3 Portable, though he isn't date-able. He is also playable in
