As far as I know, Ken works out like the girl at the shrine in P3. Ken's first crush kinda deal but nothing pedo lol. The one that has me interested is that the girl can apparently date Shinji...

The funny thing is that FES actually adds a scene where Minato's friends try to cover for him with all the girls he's dating. I think canonically, if The Answer is any evidence, Minato wound up with Yukari since she gives the impression in the game that she was in love with him. Aegis... her situation is complicated and even in her social link she confirms her feelings for him spark from their past.

I didn't really have a problem with the supposed "cheating" cause I felt it was more of a programming oversight. I liked P4's system but was sad that you can't get Naoto until a New Game +. As for who that lead should wind up with... I actually think its more obvious that Rise likes him more than the other girls, though Naoto also seems to like him a bit more than just a friend (but this could be out of professional respect.

So do I but it seems as least as far as the original game was concerned, Mitsuru only thinks of him as a close friend. Especially since you can sweep her off her feet if you wanted to.

After reading how much of the social links have changed in the girl's campaign for P3P, I feel it will be awesome to see the feature used in the future titles. I'm looking forward to dating Akihiko

I'm curious too, but I get the feeling it will probably be more in the vein of P3/P4 cause they have sorta hit a goldmine with this design, which doesn't bother me cause I feel the social link system still has places it can be expanded on. I also need them to re-balance combat and get it right this time, which may involve a bit of backtracking from P4's design.

My guess is they are testing out the prospect of choosing your characters gender for future entries and I wouldn't be surprised if the Japanese wanted a portable version of P3 (the moneymaker of the franchise) so they chose to kill two birds with one stone.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did something similar for P4 in the future but hopefully if P1 does well they may consider releasing the P2 titles. Course they may wait until after P5 is released.

I have EP for PS1 and I found a really cool site if you want the backstory to the P2 games. I've never played IS but I read the excellent fan translation of the script. I think the best bet would be to either find the games on a PS1 emulator or hope to god they finally give them a PSP release.

I own both copies, the PSP version is a lot better, its still silly but after dealing with the "U.S. Version" it will feel like heaven, especially since they actually do a better job explaining attack range for weapons and equip bonuses. You also get the Snow Queen quest.

The story and casts are equal in my eyes but it was little things that make P3 win out cause I wasn't too fond of how P4 nerfed physical abilities, did money, and I felt the social links were not as balanced with the story. But really, most of that is just nitpicking as opposed to a really legitimate complaint. I'm picking up P3 Portable as well, just because all the stuff I've read about the Girl's campaign makes it sound interesting cause it is very different from the Minato's.

P4 was an awesome game, I love P3 a bit more but at times its really hard to choose between them.

Part of your world

by Fynn on 06-06-2017 at 05:37 PM
So there's this nagging issue I've had for quite some time now. It's a pretty abstract issue but one I think is pretty interesting and perhaps even important to share nonetheless. For many reasons, it has only become more pronounced recently.

As some of you may know, I want to be a writer. I try to do as much writing as I can. I even do writing for a living, though as an SEO copywriter, it's not exactly that I have an opportunity to spread my creative wings as part of what keeps giving

On FFVII (part of my Fmarathon rant)

by Fynn on 11-23-2016 at 12:16 PM
Decided this is worthy of being a blog-post, since it turned out to be a much bigger rant than I expected and I'm not sure the marathon's audience is really there for that kind of stuff

Frustrations of the writerly sort

by Fynn on 07-01-2016 at 12:13 PM
So there's this thing I've been struggling for quite some time. I don't want to call it a "writer's block" because it kind of seems like an excuse for being lazy. And it usually doesn't last long. This is something that's been eating at me for a long time.

I just kinda feel that I can't write anymore.

I mean, I still write articles for the site sometimes and I write other texts at my work, but it seems like, creatively, I've dried up. I'll come up with ideas

On story expectations

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 12:57 PM
So this is kind of a general discussion, but the general rant I have is based on three popular 3DS RPGs: Bravely Default, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Shin Megami Tensei IV. Sorry if this is chaotic, as I'm just writing this as it comes into my mind. Also, spoilers from the three games abound.

All of those games were very well received, though for different reasons. SMT is kind of here to serve as a neutral ground, as the evaluation of its story is pretty divided, whereas the consensus

Character Appreciation: Junpei Iori

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 11:37 AM
This is in no way an idea I stole from Pumpkin, no siree.

Junpei Iori is a character from the Persona franchise. He first appears in Persona 3 and all of its subsequent releases as a playable party member. He becomes a social link character as well in the female path of Persona 3 Portable, though he isn't date-able. He is also playable in
