That will be fine. I have a stressful week ahead thanks to work, so I could use the distraction.

I hear that. I was really drained in mine as well, but figured my issue was that I was getting tired of writing Rebecca and needed to switch to someone new. I was going to have this current chapter be an elaborate training montage kind of deal so I can get the plot going again, but instead I switched over to my favorite character and introduced the comic relief character to make the story less dreary. Figure I would focus on building up the side characters who make up the entourage for awhile and let Rebecca cool off for a bit.

I'm glad you made a breakthrough on your novel. I know it's always tempting to go back and rewrite sections. Though sometimes you have to if it really helps to add focus to a character in a way that changes the one of the story.

The problem is with other arrangements that do the pure organ solo is that they never capture that echo feel of the original, like you were listening to said organ solo in the back row of a large cathedral. The recording devices they use or the locations they've performed it make it sound too clean and less grand. The choral section kind of supplements it, which is why I appreciate it.

I'm just impressed they nailed the third movement. Almost every other arrangement of the third movement never sounds right to me. It lacks that echo feel from the original. The choral piece in this one gives off that vibe which is why I'm really impressed with it.

I feel you would appreciate this.

Probably the best arrangement of his theme I've ever heard.

We'll see how well it holds up when I get there. Ven is technically next for me.

Yeah, the lighthearted moments vary from character to character. Terra's always feel a bit awkward, whereas Ven feels right at home since he tends to always get stuck with the comic relief or the funnier scenarios. Aqua did hit that right balance though.

In BbS news, I was able to reach the best part of Terra's story, for me at least. I got to kick the crap out of Peter Pan. I also forgot Terra never learns to fly. I'm almost to the end of his story arc. Went to Destiny Island, about to get tricked into fighting Master Erauqs and then the Keyblade Graveyard. I still have to finish the Mirage Arena with him as well, and finishing collecting the last of his abilities. Currently, I'm trying to get the missing sticker from Disney Land that I was saving for when I learned glide.

Different strokes for different folks. It's been teasing summer here, and I'm looking forward to the weekend because it's going back to showers. Hell it actually snowed here last week and I'm actually cool with it.

Yeah, I'm trying to regain my former discipline and actually stick to a schedule on things. I'm trying to set an actual time in the evening where I just write now. I'm also thinking of going back to a demo tape I was making to see if I can send it out and get some fun side work to do.

Sorry to hear you're tired. Hopefully you can get some R&R and feel better.

Part of your world

by Fynn on 06-06-2017 at 04:37 PM
So there's this nagging issue I've had for quite some time now. It's a pretty abstract issue but one I think is pretty interesting and perhaps even important to share nonetheless. For many reasons, it has only become more pronounced recently.

As some of you may know, I want to be a writer. I try to do as much writing as I can. I even do writing for a living, though as an SEO copywriter, it's not exactly that I have an opportunity to spread my creative wings as part of what keeps giving

On FFVII (part of my Fmarathon rant)

by Fynn on 11-23-2016 at 11:16 AM
Decided this is worthy of being a blog-post, since it turned out to be a much bigger rant than I expected and I'm not sure the marathon's audience is really there for that kind of stuff

Frustrations of the writerly sort

by Fynn on 07-01-2016 at 11:13 AM
So there's this thing I've been struggling for quite some time. I don't want to call it a "writer's block" because it kind of seems like an excuse for being lazy. And it usually doesn't last long. This is something that's been eating at me for a long time.

I just kinda feel that I can't write anymore.

I mean, I still write articles for the site sometimes and I write other texts at my work, but it seems like, creatively, I've dried up. I'll come up with ideas

On story expectations

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 11:57 AM
So this is kind of a general discussion, but the general rant I have is based on three popular 3DS RPGs: Bravely Default, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Shin Megami Tensei IV. Sorry if this is chaotic, as I'm just writing this as it comes into my mind. Also, spoilers from the three games abound.

All of those games were very well received, though for different reasons. SMT is kind of here to serve as a neutral ground, as the evaluation of its story is pretty divided, whereas the consensus

Character Appreciation: Junpei Iori

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 10:37 AM
This is in no way an idea I stole from Pumpkin, no siree.

Junpei Iori is a character from the Persona franchise. He first appears in Persona 3 and all of its subsequent releases as a playable party member. He becomes a social link character as well in the female path of Persona 3 Portable, though he isn't date-able. He is also playable in
