I just don't like my body much, which colours in my thoughts. I wouldn't dare expose my.. feet to anyone unless practically required, like on a beach, where wearing shoes would draw attention.

Truthfully, I'd love to have a childhood spent at lakes and forests. What you describe sounds almost magical. But I didn't receive that, and I'm only getting used to the great outdoors thanks to Mr. Carny's influence.

I can accept that.. feet are a necessary part of the body for mobility and balance. Nothing more.

And wow, 35 C would literally kill me.

Oh wow, we are pretty much opposites in that regard then. I hate socks, for example. as my feet feel super constrained in them, and I love to feel the air between my toes and the ground beneath my feet. If I could, I would walk barefoot. But that's not really an option in the summer, so once June comes around I usually shift to flip-flops exclusively, unless it rains. And you won't catch me in socks at home in the summer. Sadly, it's too cold to walk barefoot around the house in the colder seasons

I'm better than I was, but that entire paragraph made my face scrunch up internally. I can about bring myself to type those words, and I only use them verbally if there are literally no other alternatives.

I guess the summers here might just be hotter than in the UK, as I could not imagine wearing regular jeans in the summer here, though I do know a few individuals who never wear shorts in that weather and that just baffles me, as I sometimes even overheat with the little clothes I do wear in the summer.

Oh, I find English summers hot. For me, any temperature above 20 C 'noticeably affects me'. 25 C is my upper limit of comfort. Any higher, and I start melting, rapidly. If the day has a cool breeze to compensate, I can cope for longer.

My summer wardrobe is basically whatever I wear in winter, minus a coat or top layer. I'm very slowly getting used to the summer wardrobe.

My typical summer wear would include shoes, jeans, a mono-coloured undershirt and a long-sleeved patterned/checkered/whatever shirt opened up with the sleeves rolled. Basically, my Facebook photo in a nutshell.

And yes, I detest shorts. I feel naked in them, exposed. I do wear shorts, but only during high summer, and only during the one or two times that I travel to the beach, and even then, only on a hot sunny day, and I'm caught in an agreeable mood. Oh, and I only wear shorts if I am around company that I trust. If I'm with strangers or people I don't know well, you can forget it. Those conditions are also the exact same conditions I have for going barefoot, also.

Basically, I strictly regulate what I wear based on present company, mood and modesty.
