Yeah it said something like that in the link I posted. But I don't think it's radically abandoning the VN format, it just looked to me like it'll have a lot more cutscenes.

I may rewrite my current chapter because it focuses on a character viewing another characters past, but I feel like I'm not giving the observer much time to reflect. It's not helping that the scene has a very visual element to it that may be a bit more than my writing ability is qualified for.

It might not be a bad idea because the explanation I need is kind of a wham moment because it explains a level of depravity the factions resorted to. I agree they can be compelling though when done right. I'm just trying to avoid making them too common.

Yes, the only one I've kind of done was the radio broadcast that explained the civil war. Beyond that, I've tried to avoid having a character sit down and explain things that should be common knowledge, though there are some things that I may need to actual do an expo dump for, because trying to explain it without one makes it difficult to grasp what's going on. I think that might be why I'm a bit stump where I am.

I tend to get ill at key moments. My birthday... Easter... Christmas sometimes.

My early drafts were largely plot driven which is why I covered so much ground really quickly. I'm on page 130, and in earlier drafts I would be where I imagine this first novel is now going to end. Instead I'm on what was page 20 of early drafts. It also helps that I have a better understanding of the overall plot now so I'm filling the early sections with more foreshadowing of things to come.

I'm ill. Very ill feeling. I had a cold for a few days, which yesterday progressed over to muscular ache, affecting the back, neck and joints mainly. Now today, I've just developed the case of shivers. I'm heading home from campus now. I'm really feeling crap.

I think she's improved because I have finally spent more time focusing on her. Most of the characters have improved but I feel it has more to do with me slowing down the story and taking time to flesh out details.

Yeah that sounds pretty crap :/
