    Very true.

Yeah, the setting and atmosphere of the games are fantastic. I often feel it's one of the strengths of the Devil Summoner entries cause even Soul Hackers is pretty groovy with it's cyberpunk themes.

Well just relax then, and who knows, maybe you'll get inspired to write instead.

Hopefully I will luck out when I return to it as well. I'm relatively early in a case, so I'm hoping it will be easy to pick up again since the cases are pretty self contained.

    Well happy birthday.

It grows stale after awhile. It's pretty neat in the beginning but a few chapters in, you'll start dreading random encounters. Not helped by the limited enemy variety and the other gameplay features often being cooler.

What are your thoughts so far?

Sometimes it just takes writing them wrong for awhile to realize the problem. I just feel I could be doing more to develop him. It took me years to find Rebecca's "voice" in Soul, and even now I still have doubts on whether this is how I really want her to be.

I like the deadline mentality it gives me. That and just having an actual tangible goal. It's easier to work when you know you have a deadline, and unlike NaNo, I don't have the holidays and family stuff to drain me away. I just want to release some stuff. I'm thinking of submitting some stories to magazines as well despite being a dying industry. Anyway, I think you should just for the experience and to get out some more stories done.

I'll get to FFV eventually, I might switch up the team a bit just to add variety, I'm not used to sticking to the same job class lineup for so long, but I'm oddly at the point in the game where this team is actually ideal.

As for Waiting, I'm going to try and get the basic story hammered out by the end of July and then start working on a second draft. Since I intend for it to be kind of short, I won't stress about the pacing just yet, though I've decided the narrator character isn't as well developed as I would like, but I'm probably not going to address any of that until the second draft.

Part of your world

by Fynn on 06-06-2017 at 04:37 PM
So there's this nagging issue I've had for quite some time now. It's a pretty abstract issue but one I think is pretty interesting and perhaps even important to share nonetheless. For many reasons, it has only become more pronounced recently.

As some of you may know, I want to be a writer. I try to do as much writing as I can. I even do writing for a living, though as an SEO copywriter, it's not exactly that I have an opportunity to spread my creative wings as part of what keeps giving

On FFVII (part of my Fmarathon rant)

by Fynn on 11-23-2016 at 11:16 AM
Decided this is worthy of being a blog-post, since it turned out to be a much bigger rant than I expected and I'm not sure the marathon's audience is really there for that kind of stuff

Frustrations of the writerly sort

by Fynn on 07-01-2016 at 11:13 AM
So there's this thing I've been struggling for quite some time. I don't want to call it a "writer's block" because it kind of seems like an excuse for being lazy. And it usually doesn't last long. This is something that's been eating at me for a long time.

I just kinda feel that I can't write anymore.

I mean, I still write articles for the site sometimes and I write other texts at my work, but it seems like, creatively, I've dried up. I'll come up with ideas

On story expectations

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 11:57 AM
So this is kind of a general discussion, but the general rant I have is based on three popular 3DS RPGs: Bravely Default, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Shin Megami Tensei IV. Sorry if this is chaotic, as I'm just writing this as it comes into my mind. Also, spoilers from the three games abound.

All of those games were very well received, though for different reasons. SMT is kind of here to serve as a neutral ground, as the evaluation of its story is pretty divided, whereas the consensus

Character Appreciation: Junpei Iori

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 10:37 AM
This is in no way an idea I stole from Pumpkin, no siree.

Junpei Iori is a character from the Persona franchise. He first appears in Persona 3 and all of its subsequent releases as a playable party member. He becomes a social link character as well in the female path of Persona 3 Portable, though he isn't date-able. He is also playable in
