"There are generations of knowledge and wisdom inside the Materia. We're gonna borrow their powers to save the planet from Sephiroth. There's no way we can lose the Huge Materia. You understand that, right?"
"Yeah, I understand. I understand that Materia is precious, and I also understand what you are thinking."
Following dialogue of Cloud who does not want to sacrifice the Materia and Cid who does not give a damn because he wants his dream to come true and therefore bet on the power of science using the Materia. so basically MagiTek.

I don't need to bring in lore that was already introduced on CD1 just because some people want to hear it again on CD2. The reasons are all there.

    - Materia is very powerful. It draws energy from the planet. Huge Materia is over 300 times stronger and therefore robs the planet from more.
    - If this Materia, this "knowledge and wisdom" that Cloud mentions, it is lost forever, both disrespecting the legacy of the planet as well as robbing it from the source material the planet needs to actually grow
    - While using Materia in general is not the finest way to go, Cloud at least only want to use it and not actually waste it completely.
    - Their plan is better anyway because Sephiroth is the summoner.
    - Et cetera.

That's good to hear, I think there was really only one or two characters I actively liked in DS1.

Yeah a modern entry would be cool as well, I just like the actual detective gameplay of the Raidou titles and the setting.

I've never heard bad things about the cast of DS2, most fans say it's a huge improvement over the original.

I've heard the plot and cast are better in DS1, as well as the comparisons to Evangelion. Yeah, I'm not a fan of the art style of the games.

Last Bible may get some renewed interest if the new fantasy RPG they are working on does well. I honestly would love a new Raidou game.

Probably sooner than they should to be honest. Atlus seems to be transitioning from small fry company to big leagues much like Square did in the late 90s. So I would assume a fifth entry is well on the way, though I'm sure we'll see a special edition and several spin-offs of P5 before that happens. At least I don't feel it will be another ten year wait like the last two.

I'm more curious to see if they might resurrect Devil Summoner or Last Bible. Hell a sequel to Catherine would be interesting to see.

I don't know, I'm actually trying to think of another post-apocalyptic series in the 90s that can be compared to it. I would probably say his old designs feel a bit dated since that whole scene was more of an 80s thing.

You have a very curvy style to your designs.
  8. View Conversation
True, but you saw so little of that kind of design in places. I have a serious soft spot for 80's apocalyptic visuals so I guess it never bothered me or looked boring.

High Pixie was the one I got. I suspected Cerberus, but it didn't look like Koromaru's Cerberus.

I hope you enjoy the vid. Tam Lin is one of my favorite fairy tails, and that's a fantastic version of the ballad. I wanted to post a thread talking about it, but I figured it wouldn't be welcome.

Actually, some fans think Kaneko got kicked upstairs since his titles don't sell as well as the Persona teams. Of anything, I feel he had to since the original producer/president of the company left them around the time Persona 3 came out. He's like one of the few original staff members left.

I don't mind Soejima and Doi either, but I feel in the case of Soejima at least, that his style is a bit too... commercial I guess? Kind of like Nomura's style. There isn't anything wrong with their artwork, but it kind of just seems to blend in with what everyone else is doing. Kaneko's art style on the other hand is edgy and eye-catching, even if it is often bizarre and ridiculous.

Part of your world

by Fynn on 06-06-2017 at 05:37 PM
So there's this nagging issue I've had for quite some time now. It's a pretty abstract issue but one I think is pretty interesting and perhaps even important to share nonetheless. For many reasons, it has only become more pronounced recently.

As some of you may know, I want to be a writer. I try to do as much writing as I can. I even do writing for a living, though as an SEO copywriter, it's not exactly that I have an opportunity to spread my creative wings as part of what keeps giving

On FFVII (part of my Fmarathon rant)

by Fynn on 11-23-2016 at 12:16 PM
Decided this is worthy of being a blog-post, since it turned out to be a much bigger rant than I expected and I'm not sure the marathon's audience is really there for that kind of stuff

Frustrations of the writerly sort

by Fynn on 07-01-2016 at 12:13 PM
So there's this thing I've been struggling for quite some time. I don't want to call it a "writer's block" because it kind of seems like an excuse for being lazy. And it usually doesn't last long. This is something that's been eating at me for a long time.

I just kinda feel that I can't write anymore.

I mean, I still write articles for the site sometimes and I write other texts at my work, but it seems like, creatively, I've dried up. I'll come up with ideas

On story expectations

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 12:57 PM
So this is kind of a general discussion, but the general rant I have is based on three popular 3DS RPGs: Bravely Default, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Shin Megami Tensei IV. Sorry if this is chaotic, as I'm just writing this as it comes into my mind. Also, spoilers from the three games abound.

All of those games were very well received, though for different reasons. SMT is kind of here to serve as a neutral ground, as the evaluation of its story is pretty divided, whereas the consensus

Character Appreciation: Junpei Iori

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 11:37 AM
This is in no way an idea I stole from Pumpkin, no siree.

Junpei Iori is a character from the Persona franchise. He first appears in Persona 3 and all of its subsequent releases as a playable party member. He becomes a social link character as well in the female path of Persona 3 Portable, though he isn't date-able. He is also playable in
