Nope. Not that I object to helping. I just don't know how I'd contribute, really. I just learned of it when he was showing off some of the art and talking about it. Seemed like a good opportunity for you.

It's the main way I communicate with him (and most of my friends). It's kind of a combination of Skype and TeamSpeak. A chat/audio system for friends, designed for gamers. It's much more stable than Skype, and it's a fairly useful system for contacting people, allowing private conversations with individuals or groups, the ability to form your own server, and more. That and the Smashboards forums are the two ways I have to contact him (unless you want to go visit him in Germany).

Okay. I told him your concerns. Here's his response:
"Honestly I think this is a good place to start just doing it.
We don't have any deadline, expect the game to still be in development for some years and since the entire thing is voluntary and made by fans, progress usually comes in bursts of work with small trickles in-between
The often shifts in momentum can be a bit demotivating at times, but on the plus side no one is asking for regular reports, so if his time/interest in the project or doing music ends up veining there's nothing stopping him from quitting."
So work up whatever sort of presentation portfolio you may like, then I'll put you in touch with him (do you use Discord at all?).

He did want me to let you know that they are using the Creative Commons license system for the project's art for legal reasons, so that you could look into that and make sure you were okay with it.

It's a passion project. It actually started out as a ROM-hack until they decided to go their own direction and build everything from scratch. They've been working on it since 2008. So, I don't know that they'd mind the slow rate of progress, as long as you kept it coming. It would be unpaid, though, I believe (though, once the game's complete, they could maybe sell it, and I'm sure you'd get a share of that).

Would you want to compose for a video game project? I have a friend involved with making a spiritual successor to the Shining Force games. They have a fully working engine built from the ground up, some sprite work, good map design... But they don't have a composer, and have been using license-free stuff because of that. He liked your work, though, and if you're interested, he'd showcase it to the rest of his team and see what they think, maybe pull you onboard.

I got inundated with homework and emotional stuff but hopefully I can send you some of my writing soon!

Part of your world

by Fynn on 06-06-2017 at 05:37 PM
So there's this nagging issue I've had for quite some time now. It's a pretty abstract issue but one I think is pretty interesting and perhaps even important to share nonetheless. For many reasons, it has only become more pronounced recently.

As some of you may know, I want to be a writer. I try to do as much writing as I can. I even do writing for a living, though as an SEO copywriter, it's not exactly that I have an opportunity to spread my creative wings as part of what keeps giving

On FFVII (part of my Fmarathon rant)

by Fynn on 11-23-2016 at 12:16 PM
Decided this is worthy of being a blog-post, since it turned out to be a much bigger rant than I expected and I'm not sure the marathon's audience is really there for that kind of stuff

Frustrations of the writerly sort

by Fynn on 07-01-2016 at 12:13 PM
So there's this thing I've been struggling for quite some time. I don't want to call it a "writer's block" because it kind of seems like an excuse for being lazy. And it usually doesn't last long. This is something that's been eating at me for a long time.

I just kinda feel that I can't write anymore.

I mean, I still write articles for the site sometimes and I write other texts at my work, but it seems like, creatively, I've dried up. I'll come up with ideas and flesh

On story expectations

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 12:57 PM
So this is kind of a general discussion, but the general rant I have is based on three popular 3DS RPGs: Bravely Default, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Shin Megami Tensei IV. Sorry if this is chaotic, as I'm just writing this as it comes into my mind. Also, spoilers from the three games abound.

All of those games were very well received, though for different reasons. SMT is kind of here to serve as a neutral ground, as the evaluation of its story is pretty divided, whereas the consensus

Character Appreciation: Junpei Iori

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 11:37 AM
This is in no way an idea I stole from Pumpkin, no siree.

Junpei Iori is a character from the Persona franchise. He first appears in Persona 3 and all of its subsequent releases as a playable party member. He becomes a social link character as well in the female path of Persona 3 Portable, though he isn't date-able. He is also playable in
