Cool. It might be a little while before I get around to reading it, but I'm excited to check out the excerpt from your novel

Yeah, in french it changes the entire pronunciation. "ť" is a higher sound (accent aigu, meaning accute accent) and the "Ť" is a lower sound (accent grave, meaning... grave accent :P). I think Agnes is cuter but I dunno I haven't played the game. Personality can change my opinion on that stuff pretty quickly

So I've been looking at the Bravely Default job classes because that interests me, and normally in situations like this (FF III, V, X-2) I pick the characters that look best in whichever jobs and assign them that way. This wouldn't work in this case it seems, because almost every single one of them I think that Agnes? character looks the best.

I do prefer the Edea? girl as a spellfencer? But the brunette girl as a summoner is just

    Sure, sounds good to me!

It'll probably be a few months before I can get a 3DS unless I can get a job before then by some miracle.

I don't think you're bitching at all. I don't think you have too many characters, but then again, I'm a big fan of large casts of charaters. Case and point: my own story that has eight protagonists and a long list of secondary characters and antagonists. Sometimes books or stories with a larger cast can be a bit confusing at first and hard to keep up with, but once you read further they become easy to distinguish between and it all comes together.

I think really what you have to do is go with what YOU feel works best. If a writer writes what they don't really like or feel and do it because of suggestions, it comes across often. It becomes harder to get immersed in the story because the writer is pulled out of it themselves. I've had suggestions that just click and I'm like "oh, that's a great idea, that works really well" and that type of feedback is good, but if you hear something and it just doesn't feel right, then you shouldn't go with it. In the end, you can't make everyone happy with everything.

I just finished reading my favorite book, The Giver, and there are things I would change in it or suggest other things had the author approached me. It's still a great book.

I'm sorry Fynn. I've definitely been there. Not sure if this works for you, but what helps me is reading or listening to music. Sometimes, and this is cheesy, don't laugh at me, I'll play a song and picture it as like a "trailer" or something for my story. It tends to get some ideas flowing sometimes. Also, if I have inspirations for scenes later on in the book, I go ahead and write those and it sometimes sparks something for where I'm having the block.

Thanks! I hope you give it a look and enjoy it! And best of luck with your own book, I know how hard they are to write

Part of your world

by Fynn on 06-06-2017 at 04:37 PM
So there's this nagging issue I've had for quite some time now. It's a pretty abstract issue but one I think is pretty interesting and perhaps even important to share nonetheless. For many reasons, it has only become more pronounced recently.

As some of you may know, I want to be a writer. I try to do as much writing as I can. I even do writing for a living, though as an SEO copywriter, it's not exactly that I have an opportunity to spread my creative wings as part of what keeps giving

On FFVII (part of my Fmarathon rant)

by Fynn on 11-23-2016 at 11:16 AM
Decided this is worthy of being a blog-post, since it turned out to be a much bigger rant than I expected and I'm not sure the marathon's audience is really there for that kind of stuff

Frustrations of the writerly sort

by Fynn on 07-01-2016 at 11:13 AM
So there's this thing I've been struggling for quite some time. I don't want to call it a "writer's block" because it kind of seems like an excuse for being lazy. And it usually doesn't last long. This is something that's been eating at me for a long time.

I just kinda feel that I can't write anymore.

I mean, I still write articles for the site sometimes and I write other texts at my work, but it seems like, creatively, I've dried up. I'll come up with ideas

On story expectations

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 11:57 AM
So this is kind of a general discussion, but the general rant I have is based on three popular 3DS RPGs: Bravely Default, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Shin Megami Tensei IV. Sorry if this is chaotic, as I'm just writing this as it comes into my mind. Also, spoilers from the three games abound.

All of those games were very well received, though for different reasons. SMT is kind of here to serve as a neutral ground, as the evaluation of its story is pretty divided, whereas the consensus

Character Appreciation: Junpei Iori

by Fynn on 03-30-2016 at 10:37 AM
This is in no way an idea I stole from Pumpkin, no siree.

Junpei Iori is a character from the Persona franchise. He first appears in Persona 3 and all of its subsequent releases as a playable party member. He becomes a social link character as well in the female path of Persona 3 Portable, though he isn't date-able. He is also playable in
