Pretty much yeah. Nick doesn't kill off any characters(I mean, you didn't even see Zhao die), but there was little context.

Jet deadly wounded, telling them to go, Jet saying he'll be okay, and Toph saying he lied.

He was in the end of Season 2 as well, but yeah, he died, so no appereances afterward.
