I remember rainbow road! It gave me a headache...

I remember in the old Mario Kart, there was a level called Rainbow world or whatever and It was so annoying to look at but I use to lap people in that level, with Yoshi.

I remember toad and koopa being slow! Ah well, I guess at my advanced age, my memory isn't so great.

Yeah, that would be fun though.

There should be more girl characters!

Toad definitely had the best acceleration, I am 100% sure of that. Checking most of the faqs on gamefaqs seems to confirm Toad and TK as the fastest and lightest. That's another reason why I liked TK, he handled like a demon!

But, there is only one way to find out. One day, we will hook up three SNES consoles, I will use TK, Sapphire will use Yoshi and RSL will use DK, and we will have a race.

Here's how I remember it. If I'm wrong, then I guess I'll go eat some eggs

Mario and Luigi were all arounders, decent accelaration, handling, and top speed
yoshi and princess had the best acceleration, but their handing and top speed weren't as good
toad and koopa were the slowest, but had great handling and decent acceleration
Donkey Kong and Bowser had the best top speed, but terrible acceleration and handling (unless you were me, I could whip donky kong around those corners like nobodies business).

My SNES is long gone though, the only Mario Kart I have access to right now is the one for the gamecube

Koopa Troopa wasn't slow! He was the smallest character along with Toad and they were both the fastest, but Koopa Troopa had a slight advantage in top speed compared to Toad's accelration. At least, that's how I remember it. :mog:

No I still think that Yoshi is the best! I always won when I was Yoshi.
