I believe him.
I've always liked the part of the Odyssey with the Cyclops.
Each side of your brain has a different function. To be extremely blunt, one is creative and one is logical. One side is always predominant, though, and the sides switch for predominancy every ten minutes or so. But if you keep one eye closed, they don't switch. For example, say you need to be creative, maybe you're writing a story or drawing a picture for little children, which, I think, is your right brain's forte, though I could be wrong, maybe it's your left brain- Look, pay attention. Say you want your right brain to stay in the lead, you close your left eye. (Remember how they work on opposite sides. You see through your left eye what your right brain perceives, etc.) The closed eye somehow disengages youe left brain enough that it won't automatically take it's dominant position until you open your right eye again. I don't know if it works for blind people, but you kow what they say... In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king. (SPOILER)A one eyed man is called cyclops.
