I was at a holiday resort place, filled with people. So, too many people. Oh well.

I met him in a shoe store in Covent Garden. I was looking for a left shoe in a 6 and a right shoe in a 5 because my feet are funny like that, and he happened to be trying on a pair of sixes at right that moment. He let me buy the pair even though he had his heart set on them, and I was overcome by this act of uncalled for human kindness. I felt like I owed him, so I couldn't refuse when he asked me out for a drink later that night. He was the only truly fascinating person I've ever met. His stories...you wouldn't believe his stories. And he just made me feel so comfortable, you know? Like if the world ended tomorrow and by some freak accident we were the only people to survive, it wouldn't matter because he'd help me every step of the way. I don't know what true love is, but this was true something, so I felt like I had to act on it. This time next year we'll be married, and I want you to be Best Man.
