I don't understand how that works. If they get comfortable with you, that's a good thing. That means ... well, they're comfortable with you. They wouldn't stop respecting you, and things wouldn't be awkward or so serious anymore.

I know this sounds cold, but I'd prefer it if some people would respect me for being a serious, mysterious, hardy person than for being a soft sensitive person. There are some people out there that would respect me more that way. If they get too comfortable with me they start treating me like a joke and stop listening to and respecting me.

How can nicknames be annoying? :kaocry2: But nicknames are so cute! It's like that you're special to them that they are comfortable to give you a nickname! I mean, if I just met some guy, named, I dunno, Bob, I wouldn't automatically start calling him Bobby-boy.

This one guy calls me Green Bean at my school

Not that I would ever call anyone Bobby-Boy.

I still find nicknames annoying though...

No matter what name you pick someone's gonna come up with a nickname, probably including myself. Just because someone gives you a nickname, doesn't mean they don't take you seriously.

I just want to make sure that I have a name that people will be taking more seriously.
