That's the thing. I typed I instead of you when I meant the comics you posted in the AC thread. Those are not young skills to be envious of XD

You posted, not I posted, that doesn't even make sense!

I'll wait for you. I need to focus on Jack and Benny. I'll still probably be unable to write anything for a while because the Witcher has consumed my life, but I should be done with it soon.

Still, I guess this is as good a time as any to ask you the same question about my writing. I can definitely relate to the comics I posted, but I still try and try again, though I do sometimes wonder if this isn't a lost cause. They recently wrote me back from a contest and they told me that they enjoyed the story but won't publish it. Bet they tell that to all the contestants

Never really got the impression you're someone who acts like they're awesome or something. You know what you like and what bothers you and some people just take it very personally when you criticize what they like. If only professional writers had the right to criticize, well, we wouldn't have as robust a set of opinions online as we have, now would we.

Well, you've come to the right place. I'm not known for sugar-coating stuff. Just ask Formy

    Short answer: yes, you are.

Long answer: like any writer, you have your strengths and weaknesses. Your main strengths are world-building, a unique perspective on a lot of popular tropes, and ideas for plots with strong twists that feel meaningful and appropriate. Surprising, but not out of place. Your main weakness is your relative lack of practice, I think. While the writing I've read flows generally nicely, I feel there are places that need some smoothing out. Your narrative descriptions could use some work, though your dialogue is strong in general. But these are really just practical elements - something that can be easily improved by just reading and writing more. You've got the creative side down and that's really good because I feel it's harder to work that out than the writing workshop. With creativity, you either have it or you don't, and while you can work at it, it's a much more abstract process to learn it than to learn the actual craft.

Why do you ask now, all of a sudden?

Same. I am heartbroken in the best way possible.

Need to catch up with your list, btw! Will do it soon!

I do but man, I still can't get over that ending

Just finished the base game story of the Witcher 3. Definitely my number one. The main antagonist could have been handled better, but the emotional payoff with the characters was just fantastic. Also, multiple endings yhaybtrally hinged on much more than a very obvious choice. I had a vague idea of what endings there are and was thinking of steering the game into one direction, but it went somewhere completely different into a more bittersweet ending. But still super satisfying

Time to take on the expansions! Heard they're super fun!

I have other things to catch up with...

by Wolf Kanno on 04-09-2025 at 07:53 AM
I know I already have a lot on my plate, but I do want to finish a few other things besides writing projects and my various marathons.

I like to do gunpla and other mecha themed model kits, and I still have six more I need to finish. I have the old MG line of Gundam Wing Endless Waltz models from back in the early 2000s and I still need to put together the Tallgeese III to complete the set. I also recently picked up the EW version of Gundam Epyon from the same series because GW was

Games tha are distracting me from playing other games...

by Wolf Kanno on 12-10-2023 at 06:09 AM
Since I'm doing a marathon, I thought it would be fun to list the games that are distracting me from actually finishing said marathon.

FFXV ~ MGS: Peace Walker and SaGa Scarlet Graces
FFXIII ~ Breath of Fire 1-3 and MechCommander Gold
XIII-2 ~ Romancing Saga Re:Universe and FF: Opera Omnia

Will update more in the future...

Projects!!!

by Wolf Kanno on 01-28-2021 at 07:40 AM
Oof, I've been a bit out of sorts with my mental health lately, and I think it's about time I do something about that. I've got a lot of balls in the air so to speak concerning projects I've been doing around the forum both past and present. So I'm thinking about tackling a few of them, but with how I've been feeling lately, I want some second opinions I guess. Of the projects I've abandoned, what should I work on next?

Here's where I'm at for the moment:

WK's Top 100 Lost but Not Forgotten : Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together

by Wolf Kanno on 05-24-2020 at 11:43 PM

I'm always split on these articles. So many of these games are great and I have retroactively said a few of them made the list, but occasionally something comes along that I really want to love but the game just won't let me. Tactics Ogre is in a weird place for me because the remake and the original are pretty different in some meaningful ways, so much of this review pertains to the remake due to having only played a little bit of the original.

WK's Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten List: Silent Hill 3

by Wolf Kanno on 05-03-2020 at 01:37 AM
Is this honestly the first non-RPG on this list?

Well I fell into the Silent Hill series rather late. By the time I had played the series, the "glory years" were over and fans were knee deep in Konami trying to take the series in a different direction without Team Silent. I was a huge fan of the first two entries of the series, being instantly sucked into the second entry and surprised how much I really enjoyed the first one. So it came as a bit
