Also, like I said, I really love Kaneko's style, old or new, but it does feel similar to something. At least when it comes to characters. I actually like Doi more as a character designer, I think, since his faces feel the most unique of the three, but yeah, Kaneko's demons are the best. I really hope we can get more from him someday.

Oh don't get me wrong, I love it! It's just that back in the day, I feel that was the more marketable style.

Btw, I tried to recreate some of Kaneko's demon designs here in some art I'm doing for my Devil Summoner fanfic (original characters mostly, since it's NYC, but definitely some cameos, not to mention all the demons), and I can say that the designs are delightfully simple - and I mean that in the best way possible. They're super creative while not being over designed, which can't really be said for Soejima's monster designs, tbh. Glad Doi is making things simple too (although I do feel his demons look a bit too much like the human characters).

If you're undecided, probably best to hold off until a few patches. It is still a good game, but it will definitely get better after a few months.

Currently Mass Effect: Andromeda. Finished PW: Spirit of Justice earlier in the year. Really want to get Persona 5 in the summer, but FFXII: TZA also comes out in summer! Noooooo.

I like Soejima and Doi just fine tbh, but I don't think either of them is doing the new Strange Journey avatars? And I get Kaneko probably wants to focus on bigger roles and take a break from designing, since he's been a producer on most recent projects, but I miss new demon designs from him, and Strange Journey's atmosphere was really only possible with his character designs.

I mean, yeah, I'm happy it'll get more reach, and I'm actually looking forward to the fact that they added voices. Will probably make it feel more like IV, which is a good thing. I'm not too wild about the character redraws, though, and I really don't know how the new character will fit in because she looks wildly out of place. Probably gonna skip this, since the original was pretty perfect in my eyes, but maybe someone else will get to experience it thanks to this.

And don't even get me started on Radiant Historia. They've redesigned one of the key characters who had a really cool and original design for her role and turned her into a generic moe blob. I hate that.

Dunno if you heard about this, but Strange Journey is apparently getting a 3DS remake. The original is my favorite SMT game, but... I really don't know how to feel about this?
