Pretty sure it was stated that anyone with a strong enough will can get out of the sea. So it was more like, it's a hellhole now but it'll get better, probably

I agree, though you have to admit his portrayal is far more unambiguously benevolent and kind in the movies.

And I agree on the ending, and I actually think even EoE has this ray of hope to it. But by the end of 3.0 it does look like this might be heading to a happy ending that's actually stable and built up towards, with characters actually doing something right instead of an ephemeral "in your head" ending.

I had most of the manga volumes, actually, as they even got published in Poland. Will have to check out the later chapters.

I'm pretty sure he got depressed after making 3.0 rather than during it

Also, I may be in the minority here, but I kinda wish we get a happy ending this time XD

I also read some trivia on tvtropes and I find it interesting that 4chan tends to dislike the Rebuild version of Kaoru, while the tumble crowd vastly prefers him to the original.

At this point I'm just glad he's feeling better and working on it.

By the way, I got that Witcher bundle I mentioned earlier today. Aside from the gift card, I actually got an additional discount, which made the final price amount to 20 zl. That's about 5 bucks. For three full games (four if you count the board game).

Yeah, it does sound like you're pretty close to the end! Keep it up!

Also, good to see Jack again! It's that time of year, I guess.

Btw, I read Anno is actually back to making the last Evangelion movie. Can't wait!

Oh, yeah, I heard about Fatal Frame and need to try it someday! That is a cool choice to go with!

And yeah, while I think playing in order is always cool, Silent Hill 4 might just be what you're looking for. On the one hand, it's a bit lighter what with the goofy protagonist (whom I love), but then there's the whole room thing where you think there's this safe space you can always return to... until stuff happens and trout gets really creepy.

Plus, limited inventory is a thing here. Another added layer of tension.

Thanks for the recommendation! I'll check them out later.

As for Halloween gaming, like I said in the thread, you can't really go wrong with Silent Hill. Parasite Eve was, to me personally, not scary in the slightest. It's kind of more like an episode of the X-Files, and not a particularly dark one really, than an actual horror movie. There's some squick, but not really much. I think the Vagrant Story-like battle system might actually be a cause for that, though.

Still, you basically have a whole month! And horror games usually aren't that long, so you might as well beat more of them

Well, here's hoping we both succeed in our goals this year

So how do you plan to go about NaNo, if at all? I'm actually seriously thinking of trying it this year so that I can actually force myself to move my novel along. Not sure if I should stick to the regular 50k word count and then add the rest after NaNo or if I should extend it to the 80-90k that my novel is supposed to be and just make myself write every day.

I have other things to catch up with...

by Wolf Kanno on 04-09-2025 at 07:53 AM
I know I already have a lot on my plate, but I do want to finish a few other things besides writing projects and my various marathons.

I like to do gunpla and other mecha themed model kits, and I still have six more I need to finish. I have the old MG line of Gundam Wing Endless Waltz models from back in the early 2000s and I still need to put together the Tallgeese III to complete the set. I also recently picked up the EW version of Gundam Epyon from the same series because GW was

Games tha are distracting me from playing other games...

by Wolf Kanno on 12-10-2023 at 06:09 AM
Since I'm doing a marathon, I thought it would be fun to list the games that are distracting me from actually finishing said marathon.

FFXV ~ MGS: Peace Walker and SaGa Scarlet Graces
FFXIII ~ Breath of Fire 1-3 and MechCommander Gold
XIII-2 ~ Romancing Saga Re:Universe and FF: Opera Omnia

Will update more in the future...

Projects!!!

by Wolf Kanno on 01-28-2021 at 07:40 AM
Oof, I've been a bit out of sorts with my mental health lately, and I think it's about time I do something about that. I've got a lot of balls in the air so to speak concerning projects I've been doing around the forum both past and present. So I'm thinking about tackling a few of them, but with how I've been feeling lately, I want some second opinions I guess. Of the projects I've abandoned, what should I work on next?

Here's where I'm at for the moment:

WK's Top 100 Lost but Not Forgotten : Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together

by Wolf Kanno on 05-24-2020 at 11:43 PM

I'm always split on these articles. So many of these games are great and I have retroactively said a few of them made the list, but occasionally something comes along that I really want to love but the game just won't let me. Tactics Ogre is in a weird place for me because the remake and the original are pretty different in some meaningful ways, so much of this review pertains to the remake due to having only played a little bit of the original.

WK's Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten List: Silent Hill 3

by Wolf Kanno on 05-03-2020 at 01:37 AM
Is this honestly the first non-RPG on this list?

Well I fell into the Silent Hill series rather late. By the time I had played the series, the "glory years" were over and fans were knee deep in Konami trying to take the series in a different direction without Team Silent. I was a huge fan of the first two entries of the series, being instantly sucked into the second entry and surprised how much I really enjoyed the first one. So it came as a bit
