Ok, it's a promise, then!

Well, let's keep pumpkins each other up then! This weekend, your task is to critique enough stuff to publish your next chapter, while mine is to finish rewriting chapter one!

He does, doesn't it? But my book still needs to fulfill a couple of criteria to make it real - it needs to get published, and he needs to read it AND like it. And those are some serious odds.

Now, don't get me wrong. While I may realize the chances for it all are next to none, I'll still do everything in my power to get my book out there. The scenario is nice and an unrealistic fantasy, but by God, I want to be a known published writer and I want my story to move people around the world!

Yeah right Easier said than done

So today I had a dream that my book was super successful and I was famous and met Guillermo del Toro and we nerded out about anime and games and decided to make an anime (I think it was Eva?) adaptation that he would direct and I'd write the screenplay. He was super nice.

Well, here's hoping everything goes well and it will get made. I'll probably have kids by the time it's out though

So, as I've been looking through TV Tropes, I noticed that Eva has actually inspired me creatively quite a bit. Interesting how I notice now, not sooner

I can wait Just as long as it does come out, I'll wait. I can be patient

But yeah, I agree. The world is bleaker and the situation more dire, but ultimately, despite Shinji being in shock again, Asuka kinda hating him and Rei being a puppet that kinda wants to be human, at least Asuka brings them together. They actually do have each other now and they are not alone. Plus, Rei is still in Unit 01 somewhere, and Kaworu promised they'd see each other again (not to mention the fact that Kaworu was actually pretty unambiguously good throughout his screen time). There is certainly a lot more hope now, whereas in the original everyone was just trying to hold on to something that was never there to begin aith

I actually think it feels darker now, what with the world being in a much worse situation, but at the same time, you can feel that it's no longer getting depressing because the author is breaking down - you can tell this is controled and stable, so even though we're theoretically moving into End of Evangelion territory right now, the whole thing just feels much more hopeful. I mean, there was a failed hope spot in the third movie, but at least Kaworu was probably one of the first people in the series to actually state that sonething can be done to make the world a better place again


Of course, I'm still half expecting Rebuild to be a stealth sequel
