Let's hope this gives me more time for everything

So DQ IX arrived today! I heard you could actually have your friends' characters in your party - how do I do that? It would be cool if I could use yours and Pumpkin's, for example.

You know, I've decided to stop going on Facebook other than to let people know of a blog update. I still need to quit tumblr, since really, I find that at this point I'm even procrastinating things I do for pure pleasure. So I don't mean just writing, but even playing games. It's amazing how much time I wasted doing something that isn't even really satisfying

    Yeah, that'll happen

How are your writing projects coming along?

Oh yes. That is definitely a huge advantage smartphone ports have over regular games, even on handhelds. I mean, I could theoretically play on the DS on the bus, but I wouldn't be able to play ON THE WAY to the bus, and it definitely helps that these ports were really well-made.

Though I did miss the DS's buttons and stuff, so that'll be a huge advantage in DQ IV V and VI. I also usually spend my evenings on gaming. I should no longer work at my language school starting February, so at least I'll be home earlier every day, so I can always write a bit first and then play. And of course, Sunday is that one day of the week when the wife and I have vowed to do nothing BUT unwind.

So yeah, I wonder if I'll manage to beat FFIII before the DS is repaired. Id say chances are high, but I'm also slowly working my way through Devil Survivor and P4 DAN. But the show must go on!

Way too busy for my liking

I've mostly been writing articles recently, as well as correcting my thesis. Once I get THAT thing out of my system, I hope I can finally focus on some real writing

    That's my intention

Definitely the best so far. I enjoyed the class system and the world. It was really cool exploring it, especially in reference to real work locations - Golden Sun later did a similar thing and the overall effect was also similar. It was all really satisfying to play and that twist really wrapped up the first three games nicely. It was very satisfying.

Ha, now I posted a message to you on my own profile XD

I had trouble beating Zoma until I remembered I had the Sphere of Light. Then, everything went well. Beat the game, and now I'm waiting for my DS to come back from repairs

I have other things to catch up with...

by Wolf Kanno on 04-09-2025 at 07:53 AM
I know I already have a lot on my plate, but I do want to finish a few other things besides writing projects and my various marathons.

I like to do gunpla and other mecha themed model kits, and I still have six more I need to finish. I have the old MG line of Gundam Wing Endless Waltz models from back in the early 2000s and I still need to put together the Tallgeese III to complete the set. I also recently picked up the EW version of Gundam Epyon from the same series because GW was

Games tha are distracting me from playing other games...

by Wolf Kanno on 12-10-2023 at 06:09 AM
Since I'm doing a marathon, I thought it would be fun to list the games that are distracting me from actually finishing said marathon.

FFXV ~ MGS: Peace Walker and SaGa Scarlet Graces
FFXIII ~ Breath of Fire 1-3 and MechCommander Gold
XIII-2 ~ Romancing Saga Re:Universe and FF: Opera Omnia

Will update more in the future...

Projects!!!

by Wolf Kanno on 01-28-2021 at 07:40 AM
Oof, I've been a bit out of sorts with my mental health lately, and I think it's about time I do something about that. I've got a lot of balls in the air so to speak concerning projects I've been doing around the forum both past and present. So I'm thinking about tackling a few of them, but with how I've been feeling lately, I want some second opinions I guess. Of the projects I've abandoned, what should I work on next?

Here's where I'm at for the moment:

WK's Top 100 Lost but Not Forgotten : Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together

by Wolf Kanno on 05-24-2020 at 11:43 PM

I'm always split on these articles. So many of these games are great and I have retroactively said a few of them made the list, but occasionally something comes along that I really want to love but the game just won't let me. Tactics Ogre is in a weird place for me because the remake and the original are pretty different in some meaningful ways, so much of this review pertains to the remake due to having only played a little bit of the original.

WK's Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten List: Silent Hill 3

by Wolf Kanno on 05-03-2020 at 01:37 AM
Is this honestly the first non-RPG on this list?

Well I fell into the Silent Hill series rather late. By the time I had played the series, the "glory years" were over and fans were knee deep in Konami trying to take the series in a different direction without Team Silent. I was a huge fan of the first two entries of the series, being instantly sucked into the second entry and surprised how much I really enjoyed the first one. So it came as a bit
