The iOS version is actually a mesh between the PSX and GBA version. It has the GBA version's graphics, but the music and gameplay is taken from the PSX version, and I heard that was the version that wasn't nerfed. But I may be wrong.

Right now, sector Antlia is wrecking me, but I'm still loving it so much. The graphics are so nice, the animations so fluid, there's so many colors, the music is amazing, and the demon conversations are just fabulous

Strange Journey is hella long and I just restarted it, not to mention it's much harder than 1. So I don't think I really stand a chance here

Beat SMT! I feel like my nerd cred just increased exponentially

I need to play those Raidou games someday as well, especially since I heard they throw a huge wrench in the SMT timeline.

    And DDS is love.

Also, only Michael left! I'm almost done with the original?

GS1 is certainly the weakest in the series, but really, it's hard to say. The second game really expands on it a lot and adds some interesting tricks, but aside from a few minor (arguably completely unnecessary) additions, the battle mechanics are identical.

But it actually works better if you import your GS1 save file. Make sure you get all the Djinn in that one if you're a completionist, as there's a bonus boss you can only get that way.

GS3 was really cool but suffered terribly from Broken Bridge and Sudden Endgame syndrome. I think 2 is the overall most satisfying game in the series.

Well, if it'll help motivate you, I'd like you to play GS as well!

I mean, if there's anyone whose taste you can trust it's me, right?

    ... Right?

I can recommend Awakening, personally, though it did leave me disappointed about the main story.

And all those trailers for #FE make me think of this:

    Urk... Tell me about it.

I remember Skyblade being excited about it saying this was what the director wanted to do in a long time, but really, did they need to masquerade that as a crossover? Couldn't they just make a modern-day Fire Emblem? I mean, Id probably be more excited about that then, but they promised me SMT and there's not a demon in sight.

Who knows, maybe they're just hyping it up like that and the story will end up dark and cynical with the usual Law vs Chaos stuff Although I seriously doubt that. Awekening's story was incredibly weak, but people still adore it for some reason (I mean the story, not the whole game. I really enjoyed Awakening but the plot was really the weak point, IMO).

Also, I'm kinda angry now about that SMT x FE crossover. I mean, it can still be a great game, but I'm just incredibly disappointed that it looks so little like anything SMT.

That's always a good thing! Even if you don't use them now, you can always do something else with it

I have other things to catch up with...

by Wolf Kanno on 04-09-2025 at 07:53 AM
I know I already have a lot on my plate, but I do want to finish a few other things besides writing projects and my various marathons.

I like to do gunpla and other mecha themed model kits, and I still have six more I need to finish. I have the old MG line of Gundam Wing Endless Waltz models from back in the early 2000s and I still need to put together the Tallgeese III to complete the set. I also recently picked up the EW version of Gundam Epyon from the same series because GW was

Games tha are distracting me from playing other games...

by Wolf Kanno on 12-10-2023 at 06:09 AM
Since I'm doing a marathon, I thought it would be fun to list the games that are distracting me from actually finishing said marathon.

FFXV ~ MGS: Peace Walker and SaGa Scarlet Graces
FFXIII ~ Breath of Fire 1-3 and MechCommander Gold
XIII-2 ~ Romancing Saga Re:Universe and FF: Opera Omnia

Will update more in the future...

Projects!!!

by Wolf Kanno on 01-28-2021 at 07:40 AM
Oof, I've been a bit out of sorts with my mental health lately, and I think it's about time I do something about that. I've got a lot of balls in the air so to speak concerning projects I've been doing around the forum both past and present. So I'm thinking about tackling a few of them, but with how I've been feeling lately, I want some second opinions I guess. Of the projects I've abandoned, what should I work on next?

Here's where I'm at for the moment:

WK's Top 100 Lost but Not Forgotten : Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together

by Wolf Kanno on 05-24-2020 at 11:43 PM

I'm always split on these articles. So many of these games are great and I have retroactively said a few of them made the list, but occasionally something comes along that I really want to love but the game just won't let me. Tactics Ogre is in a weird place for me because the remake and the original are pretty different in some meaningful ways, so much of this review pertains to the remake due to having only played a little bit of the original.

WK's Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten List: Silent Hill 3

by Wolf Kanno on 05-03-2020 at 01:37 AM
Is this honestly the first non-RPG on this list?

Well I fell into the Silent Hill series rather late. By the time I had played the series, the "glory years" were over and fans were knee deep in Konami trying to take the series in a different direction without Team Silent. I was a huge fan of the first two entries of the series, being instantly sucked into the second entry and surprised how much I really enjoyed the first one. So it came as a bit
