FFX-2 is a great game what are you even talking about

Also, the Charlie's Angels thing is all the more interesting as the movies (not the original show) were pretty similar to X and X-2 - both pairs were pretty shallow, but the sequel at least knew it was dumb and had fun with it.

Don't get me wrong. I still don't think it's a good game. But I did enjoy it much more than the original, what can I say. It's just amusing how they went about sequelizing this game

Exactly. And it was GLORIOUS XD

I get what you mean XD I was a stupid kid back when I played X and feel for the hack storytelling. It was only later when I replayed all the numbered games that I realized X was actually pretty bad. But still, it's amusing how fans of X get personally offended at how X-2 crapped all over the source material.

I still think X2 is better than X There's also a part of me that expects to like XIII better than X, because for some weird reason X has millions of devoted fans while everyone and their mother hates XIII, when X was still a very stupid, shallow mess.

Oh, and I'm straight edge, so liquor is out if the question, but I do consider making my first playthrough into a Let's Play.

From what I've heard of the game, that's the vibe I get.

And I personally think the OST is much, MUCH more than OK. I'm a big fan of Hamauzu.

And I'll probably jump into the other games in the trilogy if my brain doesn't explode because frankly, even though I know the story just keeps getting stupider, I have this thing that I need to see those things to the end. Plus, the gameplay is supposedly improved.

It's pretty simple really. Everyone talks about how terrible it is and it's easy to just jump on that bandwagon and scream along with other people. But it doesn't seem fair to do that if I don't really know if I enjoy it myself XD Also, it's the only numbered FF (MMOs aside) that I haven't beaten yet. I can't really call myself a hardcore fan of the series without having played it XD

I also consider the fact that I may have a bit more fun with it, as going in I already know that it's all a straight line and the plot is dumb so

I have other things to catch up with...

by Wolf Kanno on 04-09-2025 at 07:53 AM
I know I already have a lot on my plate, but I do want to finish a few other things besides writing projects and my various marathons.

I like to do gunpla and other mecha themed model kits, and I still have six more I need to finish. I have the old MG line of Gundam Wing Endless Waltz models from back in the early 2000s and I still need to put together the Tallgeese III to complete the set. I also recently picked up the EW version of Gundam Epyon from the same series because GW was

Games tha are distracting me from playing other games...

by Wolf Kanno on 12-10-2023 at 06:09 AM
Since I'm doing a marathon, I thought it would be fun to list the games that are distracting me from actually finishing said marathon.

FFXV ~ MGS: Peace Walker and SaGa Scarlet Graces
FFXIII ~ Breath of Fire 1-3 and MechCommander Gold
XIII-2 ~ Romancing Saga Re:Universe and FF: Opera Omnia

Will update more in the future...

Projects!!!

by Wolf Kanno on 01-28-2021 at 07:40 AM
Oof, I've been a bit out of sorts with my mental health lately, and I think it's about time I do something about that. I've got a lot of balls in the air so to speak concerning projects I've been doing around the forum both past and present. So I'm thinking about tackling a few of them, but with how I've been feeling lately, I want some second opinions I guess. Of the projects I've abandoned, what should I work on next?

Here's where I'm at for the moment:

WK's Top 100 Lost but Not Forgotten : Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together

by Wolf Kanno on 05-24-2020 at 11:43 PM

I'm always split on these articles. So many of these games are great and I have retroactively said a few of them made the list, but occasionally something comes along that I really want to love but the game just won't let me. Tactics Ogre is in a weird place for me because the remake and the original are pretty different in some meaningful ways, so much of this review pertains to the remake due to having only played a little bit of the original.

WK's Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten List: Silent Hill 3

by Wolf Kanno on 05-03-2020 at 01:37 AM
Is this honestly the first non-RPG on this list?

Well I fell into the Silent Hill series rather late. By the time I had played the series, the "glory years" were over and fans were knee deep in Konami trying to take the series in a different direction without Team Silent. I was a huge fan of the first two entries of the series, being instantly sucked into the second entry and surprised how much I really enjoyed the first one. So it came as a bit
