Just out of curiosity, which do you consider the fourth FF with aliens? Because counting the Terrans from FFIX or the people from the other fragment of the world from FFV aliens basically demands calling everyone from another dimension aliens as well. I know FFV has its meteors but it also has freaking portals in them so it is not really the same thing to me as "straight from outer space, period."

    I made this thing btw ^^ https://drive.google.com/file/d/18Gr...dYDvuOHAY/view

(you need a team of at least 3 players to really have a shot at taking him down)

Going back to FFVII for a moment, despite it being my most favourite piece of fiction ever and knowing it inside out, I occasionally find myself surprised how it is a story with a freáking alien involved as in, "oh yeah, there is an alien in the story" even though I already know it. But the very fact that Jenova is an alien never seems to register as in "btw it is a monster from outer space like the Xenomorphs or Lavos." The aliens in VIII, which are the normal monsters never come across as such for me. Only Jenova does. Especially as it plays such an integral role. Then again even the most magic-reeking moments in the story are totally off the chart such as the Temple of the Ancients, Forgotten Capital to an extent, Whirlwind Maze (or Sephiroth's spectre-like appearances) and seem totally different from that "magic" you get to see before. These moments are really otherworldly and full-on fantasy.

Okay, maybe not 3.33 but RoE in general

As a long time YGOTAS fan, I definitely know what 4Kids is I’ll give it a watch!

And yeah, now that you mention it, I feel kind of the same philosophy was behind 3.33 as EoE. Basically Anno goes “Well here’s exactly what you said you wanted! smurf you!”

Welp, I’ve checked the subreddit. There definitely is a vocal 3.33 hatedom. Most people are just frustrated that the entire conflict could be resolved if people just talk to Shinji. But instead of seeing this as the genuine human dilemma that it is, wherein everybody blames Shinji whole also desperately trying to not blame themselves even though they know they too are too blame, on top of just being smurfing terrified of him, which really does justify them not telling him anything, they chalk it up to them being handed the Idiot Ball.

Hey, so a heads up. There’s a huge cRPG sale going on at GOG. All the old schoolD&D games are 75% off (this sale ends tomorrow), and every Witcher game is 85% off (this ends on Sunday).

So I know none of those are something you’re particularly eager to try, but they’re all still games I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone, and it’s a great deal so... thought I’d let you know

Games tha are distracting me from playing other games...

by Wolf Kanno on 12-10-2023 at 06:09 AM
Since I'm doing a marathon, I thought it would be fun to list the games that are distracting me from actually finishing said marathon.

FFXV ~ MGS: Peace Walker and SaGa Scarlet Graces
FFXIII ~ Breath of Fire 1-3 and MechCommander Gold
XIII-2 ~ Romancing Saga Re:Universe and FF: Opera Omnia

Will update more in the future...

Projects!!!

by Wolf Kanno on 01-28-2021 at 07:40 AM
Oof, I've been a bit out of sorts with my mental health lately, and I think it's about time I do something about that. I've got a lot of balls in the air so to speak concerning projects I've been doing around the forum both past and present. So I'm thinking about tackling a few of them, but with how I've been feeling lately, I want some second opinions I guess. Of the projects I've abandoned, what should I work on next?

Here's where I'm at for the moment:

WK's Top 100 Lost but Not Forgotten : Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together

by Wolf Kanno on 05-24-2020 at 11:43 PM

I'm always split on these articles. So many of these games are great and I have retroactively said a few of them made the list, but occasionally something comes along that I really want to love but the game just won't let me. Tactics Ogre is in a weird place for me because the remake and the original are pretty different in some meaningful ways, so much of this review pertains to the remake due to having only played a little bit of the original.

WK's Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten List: Silent Hill 3

by Wolf Kanno on 05-03-2020 at 01:37 AM
Is this honestly the first non-RPG on this list?

Well I fell into the Silent Hill series rather late. By the time I had played the series, the "glory years" were over and fans were knee deep in Konami trying to take the series in a different direction without Team Silent. I was a huge fan of the first two entries of the series, being instantly sucked into the second entry and surprised how much I really enjoyed the first one. So it came as a bit

WK's Top 100 Lost But Not Forgotten: SaGa Frontier 2

by Wolf Kanno on 04-05-2020 at 02:32 AM
I was having a serious reservation about whether I was going to add this to my Top 100 list or place it here. I decided it would go here for now, but part of me feels it could be like Demon's Souls and make the jump to My Top 100.

SaGa is a weird franchise. A JRPG series made for enthusiast who feel they've seen it all. From the Gameboy entries where you built a ragtag group filled with robots and monster to climb a tower/tree to visit
