Yeah kinda ^^ there's a lot of games I missed out on in the end, and it's really not until recently that I set out to actually play some of them. Doing a lot of catchup in that sense.

That's some good Kajiura music. Think the only things I consumed with her music is Madoka Magica and Fate/Zero. Always liked the things I did hear from her though.

Since you are fond of Kajiura-san, do you know Noir?

    Godlike.

Well I don't intend to deep dive into the series anytime soon - I do want to eventually but it's not a priority - though Nocturne and the Persona 2 duology are the ones that I'm most interested in. Outside of SMT, I also do want to finish NieR:Automata which I stalled after route A, and of course Ys Chronicles and Origin. I'd also like to play the Mana series though I sadly don't own a Switch for the collection, as well as some of the Suikoden games. Oh and I have an itch to replay just about all of my favorite games which I've only begun to scratch with FFX and .hack//G.U. now so that's a running project as well.

Decided to give Ys VI a whirl for a change of pace, damn those old games can be so punishing. Though I had a good chuckle when I entered a boss fight and due to me not being strong enough and damage dealt being pretty much literally (your attack stat - enemy defense stat) I did 0 damage with every attack, forcing me to reset. Fun times. Was easily rectified by getting a sword upgrade though.

Backlog hell indeed >.< well no rush, not sure how the PS2 version stacks up to the rerelease anyways, but it is a game I like a great deal. Papers Please sounds interesting but both physically and mentally stressful as all hell O_o what SMT games do you still have to go through btw?

Man, tell me about it. I feel that's a general problem in adult life, and I'm slowly learning to just accept that.

BUt maybe I'm in denial. I'm still really hoping this is a tough moment, but things will get a bit more relaxed. But in case it doesn't I just hope I can learn how to cope somehow.

I know that, for me personally (other than actually being able to live off of writing creatively, which is the end goal), I currently want to do everything in my power to go full freelance, For that I'd need more clients and to earn their trust but, slowly but surely, I am getting there an earning more money from extra jobs every month. So I hope this'll keep up and once I reach a certain level, I'll be able to slow down a little bit.

Maybe the translator thought it seemed unpersonal since you are C(h)rono and would not call her by her name. But that saved me some hours not to lament about how she probably was meant as Jina ... damnit, I still did.

Slowly. Had to prioritize writing for money right now, but I do intend to finish that short soon and then move right back into the novel proper. I have a two-week vacation coming up and though I’ll be spending most of it at my parents’, I hope I can get stuff done

Great to hear about your Halloween project! I still have no idea what to write, though I usually come up with an idea at the last second. Wonder what turnout we’ll have this year

My Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten: Suikoden IV Part 2 ~ Suikoden Tactics

by Wolf Kanno on 06-17-2019 at 06:25 AM

So in my last blog, I talked about the black sheep numbered entry of the Suikoden franchise, Suikoden IV. Today, we're going to look at Rhapsodia, better known as Suikoden Tactics in the West. Tactics is a gaiden title that serves as both prequel/sequel side story to Suikoden IV. What makes it really standout is that the game is no longer a turn-based RPG about collecting 108 heroes, but instead a Tactical Turn Based RPG a la Final Fantasy Tactics, Fire

My Top 100"s Lost but Not Forgotten: Suikoden IV ~ Part 1

by Wolf Kanno on 04-29-2019 at 06:53 AM
List, blah blah. Didn't make it, blah blah.
**************************************************************

I feel I have a theme going here. Like the BoF1 entry, anyone who took a quick glance of my list will know I'm a pretty big Suikoden fan, you'll also notice I snubbed one of the main entries and most of the spin-off/gaiden games. I'll say right now, that I have to actually play Suikogaiden due to lacking the proper emulator, which is why

My Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten: Breath of Fire

Blah blah blah, made a list, blah blah blah, this is for games that didn't make it.

****************************************************************

Anyone who simply glances over my list will notice I have a strong affiliation with Capcom's classic and underrated RPG series Breath of Fire. They will also notice I left one entry out of the list, and while my BoFII entry hints as to some of the reasons, I figured I would lay it out here

My Top 100's Lost but not Forgotten: Dragon Quest VII

by Wolf Kanno on 10-26-2018 at 05:42 AM

I feel like the year 2001 was an odd year in gaming. One of the first time where you really felt like the end of an era and the beginning of a new one was coming. Sony was gearing up to release the successor to the smash hit PlayStation and if you looked around the gaming scene, it seemed like every company was jumping ship to get on board what the PS2 could do. Square had released their PS1 swan song FFIX even though they would still support the PS1 with

My Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten: Arc the Lad II

You know the drill by now...

One of my all time favorite publishers in the 90s for video games was Working Designs. It was a company that actually tried to get a lot of cool JRPGs released in the West long before the actual JRPG boom in the last years of the decade. I've already spoken about their most high profile title they ever worked on, Lunar: The Silver Star Story,
