lol I forgot to post the link. Here: https://blog.reedsy.com/writing-contests/

And yeah it was weird how late Maximillian got introduced considering his only use is in a war battle and there’s only one left. But oh well. Don Quixote references are always nice.

I dunno if you’ve seen this but here’s a list of contests that Freya once sold me. It might be a good idea to keep up with them if you want to get published!

Not gonna lie, I did not end up prioritizing unity attacks at all. I think Tir and Kai’s was really cool because it made really short work of random encounters, but then I had enough MP to spam Hell continuously and that was no longer necessary. Soul Eater is broken and by far my favorite rune. I liked a lot of characters but I think my favorite overall was Viktor. He is just, exactly my type of guy. Big dude who looks menacing but is actually really sweet underneath all that. Love the trope. My final party consisted of him, Tir, Flik, Valeria, Kirkis and Crowley. Valeria’s rune was also pretty broken and Crowley’s magic is just insane. Kirkis was a great support character with the wind rune I gave him.

Beat Suikoden and thoroughly enjoyed it. Now I’m playing II and it’s already great. The graphics are somehow a huge leap, despite having a similar engine.

Also, I recently came up with something for my book that makes a critical change to how one of the main POV protagonists is introduced. I feel like it can give the book better focus, but I feel like it would really delay the character’s introduction, to the point that I’m wondering if there even is a point to showing the other two sides of the conflict from the inside in book one. We’ll see about that, I guess. The months pass but I’m still very early in this writing process

Heya, you're not too big a fan of Persona 4 as compared to 3 and 5, are you? I'm currently still playing P4G and do find it not quite as fun to play as 3, but I'm curious to hear, what are your major reasons for preferring the others?

    Thanks a bunch!

Well I think I’m nearing the end of Suikoden now. I got Leon and all the stars up until now, so I don’t have that many more to go.

So I’ll be jumping into S2 right after. What was it that you said about a girl with a griffin?

I think I’ll go with this hybrid thing. Her grandma was a witch and she’s sensitive in that she can see stuff most people can’t see, but she’s otherwise just a normie with access to old spell books and other stuff her grandma left behind.

And yeah, count me in! I’ll be happy to read and critique anything

I’ve axtually enjoyed pretty much everyone so far. I like the fisherman bros, Tai Ho and Yam Koo with their unite attack, Gremio and Viktor have a very nice dynamic, and everyone’s been pretty cool in general. I can’t waiy to try out Kai since he looks interesting, but he’s a higher level so far, so he’s benched. Luc kind of annoys me with how squishy he is for someone with an S-range weapon

Don’t worry, I’ve slowed down too, but that’s okay as long as you keep doing something. Fingers crossed for your endeavors (and hoping I have something contest worthy soon too) and I’m always here if you need a beta reader.

Yeah the Bible is going super slow but I’m much less stuck for now thanks to you. And yeah, I could use her for a Halloween story, but the problem is that would be an immediate tell the story is mine if I really do start writing this series earlier So far I’m kind of on the fence whether she should be a modern-day witch, a medium, or just a regular person with an interest in the paranormal and an uncanny talent of dealing with it, but whatever the case is, I think this can be a fun little side-project. I don’t want it to have too much of a continuity and it’s be cool if I managed to explore like, more contemporary horror stories (mostly internet and social media related) alongside more traditional stories but still in a way that’s fresh. I mean, maybe I want to make it more macabre comedy than horror since I don’t think I can really effectively scare anyone.

Games tha are distracting me from playing other games...

by Wolf Kanno on 12-10-2023 at 06:09 AM
Since I'm doing a marathon, I thought it would be fun to list the games that are distracting me from actually finishing said marathon.

FFXV ~ MGS: Peace Walker and SaGa Scarlet Graces
FFXIII ~ Breath of Fire 1-3 and MechCommander Gold
XIII-2 ~ Romancing Saga Re:Universe and FF: Opera Omnia

Will update more in the future...

Projects!!!

by Wolf Kanno on 01-28-2021 at 07:40 AM
Oof, I've been a bit out of sorts with my mental health lately, and I think it's about time I do something about that. I've got a lot of balls in the air so to speak concerning projects I've been doing around the forum both past and present. So I'm thinking about tackling a few of them, but with how I've been feeling lately, I want some second opinions I guess. Of the projects I've abandoned, what should I work on next?

Here's where I'm at for the moment:

WK's Top 100 Lost but Not Forgotten : Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together

by Wolf Kanno on 05-24-2020 at 11:43 PM

I'm always split on these articles. So many of these games are great and I have retroactively said a few of them made the list, but occasionally something comes along that I really want to love but the game just won't let me. Tactics Ogre is in a weird place for me because the remake and the original are pretty different in some meaningful ways, so much of this review pertains to the remake due to having only played a little bit of the original.

WK's Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten List: Silent Hill 3

by Wolf Kanno on 05-03-2020 at 01:37 AM
Is this honestly the first non-RPG on this list?

Well I fell into the Silent Hill series rather late. By the time I had played the series, the "glory years" were over and fans were knee deep in Konami trying to take the series in a different direction without Team Silent. I was a huge fan of the first two entries of the series, being instantly sucked into the second entry and surprised how much I really enjoyed the first one. So it came as a bit

WK's Top 100 Lost But Not Forgotten: SaGa Frontier 2

by Wolf Kanno on 04-05-2020 at 02:32 AM
I was having a serious reservation about whether I was going to add this to my Top 100 list or place it here. I decided it would go here for now, but part of me feels it could be like Demon's Souls and make the jump to My Top 100.

SaGa is a weird franchise. A JRPG series made for enthusiast who feel they've seen it all. From the Gameboy entries where you built a ragtag group filled with robots and monster to climb a tower/tree to visit
