Hey, so a heads up. There’s a huge cRPG sale going on at GOG. All the old schoolD&D games are 75% off (this sale ends tomorrow), and every Witcher game is 85% off (this ends on Sunday).

So I know none of those are something you’re particularly eager to try, but they’re all still games I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone, and it’s a great deal so... thought I’d let you know

That sounds great! Hope this momentum keeps up. I’ve been a bit too busy to really dig down to write, but I hope I can finish up that side story in the upcoming days.

Yeah, none of the endgame marks have been to difficult so far. Zodiark was pretty tough but that was only until I devided to Berserk Basch.

Oh sweet! Yeah, I imagine it might be harder to let go of it with that experience. Still, as I always say, the dub debacle is kind of not even relevant to me since I very rarely watch dubbed anime. The real travesty of the Netflix release is, imo, the lack of Fly Me to the Moon for the credits.

As for 3.33 - I’m pretty sure it’s BBS all over again and it’s just a vocal minority that’s hijacked the discourse. But like you, I try to stay as far away as I can from that fandom. Nevertheless, I love the videos like this that they put out from time to time. 3.33 is a beautiful movie and definitely one of my favorite things EVA, period, and that’s due in no small part to how it adds to the EVA metatextual narrative. It feels like a natural evolution.

On an unrelated note, I had a couple days off around my birthday and decided to finish some loose ends in TZA. Gonna attempt the Hellwyrm soon, since I just finished all available mark hunts.

    Btw have you seen this?

Well as someone that’s only ever watched subs, the old dub is pretty bad at first, but later grows better, but I still kinda prefer the new one? Aside from the fact that new Asuka couldn’t speak German to save her life :/

In case of FFVII it is not even necessary that it was because of a mix of early and late drafts. I have the same problem with Beyond Two Souls. As mentioned, for such characters you do not even need to mix drafts and adapt them, you are simply always writing yourself in a corner so you only have the option of going for the only possible way, leading to a stiff writing style, or sacrificing the 100% logical consistency and this way being able to write what you want. I have encountered that problem myself all too often. I want to write something and always have to keep in mind everything to have the most consistent story possible. But this can force you to do something you do not want to all the time and this way also take out the fun for you while writing. I also always WANT to keep the consistency but it just drags me down so much so often to feel the need to do that instead of "just writing". Some people can flip the switch or just not think about it in the first place. I, with all my neuroticism and urge to perfect something that is dear to me do not know if I want to do that, even if I could so there is an inner conflict with my neurotic and the side that wants to resists that neuroticism. And I always keep thinking how annoying the neuroticism can be but also have to think about how much valuable info and character growth I got through it. It is very hard for me throw the annoying part in the garbage and only make use of it for what is good for me.

Because nerds are usually terrible people that obsess over insignificant things that fuel their escapism, lest their precious immersion be broken. Which is especially ironic with the Eva fan base, considering the themes of the show

My Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten: Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep

You know the drill…

I mentioned this in my Chain of Memories entry for my Top 100 List, but Kingdom Hearts and I have a really awkward history with each other. This is a franchise that has always been more of a guilty pleasure for me than something I actively love. Funny enough, it’s not even the basic premise that bothers me. While Final Fantasy meets Disney mash-up sounds contrived, KH has always managed to make it work since this

Top 100 List Blah blah blah…. I ended up re-writing this entry because the original was a little more bitter and more like just a genuine rant than a review. With that said, a little backstory is in order.

Continuing my trend of snubbed entries in franchises, we now come back to a series that was very near and dear to me. At this point in time, the story of

My Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten: Suikoden IV Part 2 ~ Suikoden Tactics

by Wolf Kanno on 06-17-2019 at 07:25 AM

So in my last blog, I talked about the black sheep numbered entry of the Suikoden franchise, Suikoden IV. Today, we're going to look at Rhapsodia, better known as Suikoden Tactics in the West. Tactics is a gaiden title that serves as both prequel/sequel side story to Suikoden IV. What makes it really standout is that the game is no longer a turn-based RPG about collecting 108 heroes, but instead a Tactical Turn Based RPG a la Final Fantasy Tactics, Fire

My Top 100"s Lost but Not Forgotten: Suikoden IV ~ Part 1

List, blah blah. Didn't make it, blah blah.

I feel I have a theme going here. Like the BoF1 entry, anyone who took a quick glance of my list will know I'm a pretty big Suikoden fan, you'll also notice I snubbed one of the main entries and most of the spin-off/gaiden games. I'll say right now, that I have to actually play Suikogaiden due to lacking the proper emulator, which is why

My Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten: Breath of Fire

Blah blah blah, made a list, blah blah blah, this is for games that didn't make it.

Anyone who simply glances over my list will notice I have a strong affiliation with Capcom's classic and underrated RPG series Breath of Fire. They will also notice I left one entry out of the list, and while my BoFII entry hints as to some of the reasons, I figured I would lay it out here
