Also while I first had some doubts, turns out I was powerful enough to take down Lavos with only Crono and Marle and got the developer room ending right away, yay \o/

Hmm I think I'd stopped by the store once yeah cause I'd heard the name Fritz before rescuing him. Did I miss something?
  3. View Conversation
Yeah though I went back to the store like 10 hours later by which point the reward was pretty pointless lol

I got declared guilty just barely, like, by a margin of just one juror. Kicked myself a bit there. Sadly I ended up fighting *almost* everyone. Knocked out some of the guards that look away. I didn't realize you could just wait 3 days O.o that's amazing. I tried stealthing on my NG+ run which I started yesterday but the second of the two guards outside my cell caught me right away >_<

Almost entirely no. One single exception was when I got stuck on the Sunstone sidequest. I think that's it tho.

I just need to get to bed on time next time. Plus, this weather just needs to change. You'd think it's November with how it is outside

Anyway, it's good to hear your writing is comiong along. Hope I can have something done soon too.

    1. So far prolly Crono actually. He may be a silent protagonist but I'll be damned if he doesn't ooze personality and kind of embodies everything about Chrono Trigger. Too hard for me to rank the others though.
    2. 600 AD. It's the one that made me fall in love with the game and stays pretty much just consistently great. I love how it links so directly with the present and stuff like having Robo join Fiona in the reforestation effort is something only this time period could accomplish.
    3. The bosses inside Lavos actually surprised me quite a bit. After pretty much stomping Queen Zeal with the gear I had I felt like I'd overgrinded and was going to make it through without issue. Nope. The final bosses were still a really cool and tough challenge. And I was real happy to see that.
    5. Gonna go with the original classic Fire Whirl here I think. I was actually surprised by for how long it stayed a relevant skill and it's just THE classic dual tech.
    6. Finding yourself in Zeal after the climactic showdown with Magus was just magical.
    7. Damn I wish I could say Magus to that. Ahem. Now that you asked this I'm realizing the NPCs really didn't get any sort of spotlight in this game overall, particularly not compared to the PCs or Lavos (which would feel like missing the point of the question). After some deliberating probably Azala, but I don't feel particularly strongly about any of them (though they do have their moments).

Tired, mostly. Started watching Game of Thrones as I continue reading the books. No writing done yet because there's just so much trout to be done around the house. But I manage somehow.

Might do so in the near future. Before that I'll probably go back and do a NG+ for the different endings at least. But right now I'm still in awe and listening to the OST a lot (Yearnings of the Wind <3) so it might be a while, plus I'm supposed to be playing Ys: The Oath in Felghana >_< but once I got started with Chrono Trigger I just couldn't stop haha.

Well I just marathon'd all of Chrono Trigger. What a beautifully magical game. Really kicking myself that I took so long to play it now >_< I'll be digesting it and thinking about it for a long time but even just now I feel... really wowed by what I just experienced. Growing up with a game like this must be wondrous.

My Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten: Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep

by Wolf Kanno on 01-30-2020 at 09:17 PM
You know the drill…

I mentioned this in my Chain of Memories entry for my Top 100 List, but Kingdom Hearts and I have a really awkward history with each other. This is a franchise that has always been more of a guilty pleasure for me than something I actively love. Funny enough, it’s not even the basic premise that bothers me. While Final Fantasy meets Disney mash-up sounds contrived, KH has always managed to make it work since this

My Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten: Xenosaga Episode III: Also Sprach Zarathustra

Top 100 List Blah blah blah…. I ended up re-writing this entry because the original was a little more bitter and more like just a genuine rant than a review. With that said, a little backstory is in order.

Continuing my trend of snubbed entries in franchises, we now come back to a series that was very near and dear to me. At this point in time, the story of

My Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten: Suikoden IV Part 2 ~ Suikoden Tactics

by Wolf Kanno on 06-17-2019 at 07:25 AM

So in my last blog, I talked about the black sheep numbered entry of the Suikoden franchise, Suikoden IV. Today, we're going to look at Rhapsodia, better known as Suikoden Tactics in the West. Tactics is a gaiden title that serves as both prequel/sequel side story to Suikoden IV. What makes it really standout is that the game is no longer a turn-based RPG about collecting 108 heroes, but instead a Tactical Turn Based RPG a la Final Fantasy Tactics, Fire

My Top 100"s Lost but Not Forgotten: Suikoden IV ~ Part 1

by Wolf Kanno on 04-29-2019 at 07:53 AM
List, blah blah. Didn't make it, blah blah.

I feel I have a theme going here. Like the BoF1 entry, anyone who took a quick glance of my list will know I'm a pretty big Suikoden fan, you'll also notice I snubbed one of the main entries and most of the spin-off/gaiden games. I'll say right now, that I have to actually play Suikogaiden due to lacking the proper emulator, which is why

My Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten: Breath of Fire

by Wolf Kanno on 04-14-2019 at 11:23 PM
Blah blah blah, made a list, blah blah blah, this is for games that didn't make it.

Anyone who simply glances over my list will notice I have a strong affiliation with Capcom's classic and underrated RPG series Breath of Fire. They will also notice I left one entry out of the list, and while my BoFII entry hints as to some of the reasons, I figured I would lay it out here
