Roxas' second Keyblade comes from Ventus. About the Xehanort stuff I told you in a Moogle hug. That is one of the many "sloppily and not enough explained so everyone claims to know in head-canon" things. I am not even done with the treatment I will post and have over 10 pages already.

While I’ll agree Days is wa more fun than people claim, I don’t really feel it’s work as a home console release. You still explore small chunks of worlds at a time in a million repetitive missions. This makes perfect sense for a handheld as it’s very much perfect for a pick up and go playstyle, but it might become exhausting on a console.

Btw, this is weird but coded is pretty much the only game where I actuallysctively enjoy Wonderland. Then again, there are a grand total of three Disney worlds, so maybe it was just easier for it to stand out, especially combined with the gameplay gimmicks.

That’s not to say I don’t enjoy the χ version of Wonderland. I think it’s meat that, thanks to the art shift, all the worlds look different and we visit totally different places than before. And then there’s Daybreak Town which is just gorgeous.

I cannot live with this "out of place" thing, especially considering KH simply was supposed to be such a mish-mash. It is not like the Final Fantasy characters did not contribute anything at all. Without Squall, Aerith and Yuffie the whole beginning of Sora's arc is rendered void. Without them contributing to the whole Radiant Garden scenario everything falls apart. Cloud and Sephiroth were a great parallel to other characters that co-related to each other and the overall light and dark-story even though in KHII Cloud and Sephiroth basically were just supposed to re-tell Sephiroth's On the Way to a Smile-ability of how his existence is linked to Cloud, just with "I am your darkness" when translated into Kingdom Hearts. As a matter of fact, the Disney/Pixar worlds in KHIII feel so much more useless so I cannot really see how FF is not supposed to keep its place. Hayner, Pence and Olette are from Itadaki Street but are part of KH nonetheless. Why not just keep the factor that together with Disney was the allure in the first place and just integrate a bit more in the story if it might seem not relevant for some people. The inclusion of most worlds in KHIII was laughable in comparison.

It’s taxked on but the gameplay is still stellar. The 358/2 gameplay never bothered me at all as much as other people seem to hate it, but coded really does a fantastic job of just being an absolute joy to play. I’m now much more positive about the game than during my retrospective, though it’s still definitely the least necessary game in the series, story-wise.

    And it should’ve been Mickey

I went with Leopardis, but I started playing way before Back Cover was even a thing, so I just picked the one with the cat. Imagine my surprise when it turned out it’s the least popular and lowest ranking of the unions

And yeah, KHI does have a lot of earlyinstallment weirdness, but like you said, it still has a lot of charm because of that. It’s really interesting to see how coded kinda reinterprets these events and tries to tie them more with the rest of the series? Idk, it’s dumb.

I actually got super lucky with some medals so everything dies. But honestly, I feel difficulty is never the point of mobile games. Which union are you in?

Oh, that’s cool. I still have t gotten too far in that, I think I’m just over 200 missions in. It takes a while to get anywhere.

Btw, our of curiosity - was there a specific point in the retrospective that reignited your interest in the series? Or was it just talking about it in general?

He is. Gotta love our little edgy boi

    Awesome

Meanwhile, I am replaying coded. And it is stupidly fun.

God I wish I had a PS4 and could do a proud mode marathon

My Top 100's Lost but not Forgotten: Dragon Quest VII

I feel like the year 2001 was an odd year in gaming. One of the first time where you really felt like the end of an era and the beginning of a new one was coming. Sony was gearing up to release the successor to the smash hit PlayStation and if you looked around the gaming scene, it seemed like every company was jumping ship to get on board what the PS2 could do. Square had released their PS1 swan song FFIX even though they would still support the PS1 with

My Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten: Arc the Lad II

You know the drill by now...

*******************************************************************************

One of my all time favorite publishers in the 90s for video games was Working Designs. It was a company that actually tried to get a lot of cool JRPGs released in the West long before the actual JRPG boom in the last years of the decade. I've already spoken about their most high profile title they ever worked on, Lunar: The Silver Star Story,

My Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten: Final Fantasy III

Blah blah blah Top 100 blah blah blah too many good games to list. Blah blah blah, games that weren't good enough for my list but still excellent nonetheless.

*******************************************************************************

Of the Classic series within Final Fantasy, FFIII was the last one for me to play, partly cause I didn't emulate very often and partly because I had hoped SE would come to their senses and re-release this title.

My Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten: I am Setsuna

by Wolf Kanno on 02-23-2018 at 06:38 AM
So I did my Top 100 last year, and this year, I'm focusing on a few entries that didn't make the cut for one reason or another. I'll start off by saying that most of the games mentioned in this blog series are all worth playing, they simply just haven't enraptured me enough to place them on my List. I started with Demon's Souls, and i have about 24 more entries to go. I know I said it would be like four or five, but giving myself some time to think about it made me realize how many great games I

My Top 100's Lost but not Forgotten: Demon's Souls

by Wolf Kanno on 01-22-2018 at 03:23 AM
So as many people know, last year I did my Top 100 Games list, but as usual, there were a lot of games I loved that just didn't make the mark for one reason or another. I didn't really want to make a thread about it though, and figured the Blog would suit it better because there is likely only five or six games I wish to highlight here. I also feel annoyed I never use the Blog feature as much since it feels like a better platform for these types of discussions. In addition to these blogs, I do plan
