We need to do the whole mognet idea swap thing again. I need some motivation to continue my fanfic!

Meanwhile, finishing up Norwegian Wood by Murakami. It's super depressing.

Though apparently, I started with the hardest one, so maybe things won't go that bad this time

Fynn's Limits are easy with Bubba's abilities. And Fynn himself can reload Bubba's abilities then.

I'm SPYING on your Fynn messages and I just want to say I totally agree on the mage limit charging. I might actually do that ra tweak especially, that's really good.

On Fynn and his cure-all status, I think cure-all is actually such a powerful tool which is why I stuck it on Fynn's second limit break. I feel like being able to drop one (apart from maybe a weak one like Bubba's) whenever is kind of broken. I am an adamant believer in giving our beloved White Mage the Limit Start shard so that you have one immediately ready to go at the first sign of danger, but of course you can only do that once so you need to choose your moment carefully! With all that said, I do have a little idea for a cure-all mage

Oh also you may not realise this but you inspired the dungeon design. I think you made a comment about how you preferred even a crap puzzle over just some boring walk through. I briefly thought "oh god I just have boring walk through dungeons!!! MAKE PUZZLES, MAKE PUZZLES!!!" but that's what made me instead make every little item of scenery examinable for some dumb joke. I'm happy enough with it.

Well, go ahead and pitch it to him I'll definitely back you up because it sounds awesome. Would also love a pretext to write more music, tbh!

And yeah, those limit balancing ideas are all good suggestions. I think in geberal Psy did a really good job with the game's overall balance, but yeah, it'd be cool if us little mages got some more actions when it comes to limits

Formy is actually one of my main party members as I find him super useful - just goes to show that there really are many ways you can approach battles. To me, the least used character is Fox - honestly, I've found that whatever he can do, there's always a character that does it better than him. I do appreciate that the game is kinda MegaTen lite, in that you go into a battle, lose, take notes, and try again.

Yeah, I wish I had a group heal too. Or at least had the means to charge my LB faster to get Artist's Inspirstion more frequently - there have been battle where I didn't manage to get it charged all the way.

Btw, the two tracks I wrote were the first town theme and the Chocobo arrangement for the shops. Hope you enjoyed them!

Nah, I get it though. Other people can heal too. Honestly, I probably wouldn't use me for every battle if I wasn't a narcissist and hadnt picked myself as my party leader And from what I've seen in the thread, everyone has totally different party preferences. Which I think really proves how well designed the game is, because there are tons of party options and the game can really be played effectively without you having to compromise on your preferred play style. It's still challenging, but the optimal solution isn't that clear cut.

Games tha are distracting me from playing other games...

by Wolf Kanno on 12-10-2023 at 06:09 AM
Since I'm doing a marathon, I thought it would be fun to list the games that are distracting me from actually finishing said marathon.

FFXV ~ MGS: Peace Walker and SaGa Scarlet Graces
FFXIII ~ Breath of Fire 1-3 and MechCommander Gold
XIII-2 ~ Romancing Saga Re:Universe and FF: Opera Omnia

Will update more in the future...

Projects!!!

by Wolf Kanno on 01-28-2021 at 07:40 AM
Oof, I've been a bit out of sorts with my mental health lately, and I think it's about time I do something about that. I've got a lot of balls in the air so to speak concerning projects I've been doing around the forum both past and present. So I'm thinking about tackling a few of them, but with how I've been feeling lately, I want some second opinions I guess. Of the projects I've abandoned, what should I work on next?

Here's where I'm at for the moment:

WK's Top 100 Lost but Not Forgotten : Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together

by Wolf Kanno on 05-24-2020 at 11:43 PM

I'm always split on these articles. So many of these games are great and I have retroactively said a few of them made the list, but occasionally something comes along that I really want to love but the game just won't let me. Tactics Ogre is in a weird place for me because the remake and the original are pretty different in some meaningful ways, so much of this review pertains to the remake due to having only played a little bit of the original.

WK's Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten List: Silent Hill 3

by Wolf Kanno on 05-03-2020 at 01:37 AM
Is this honestly the first non-RPG on this list?

Well I fell into the Silent Hill series rather late. By the time I had played the series, the "glory years" were over and fans were knee deep in Konami trying to take the series in a different direction without Team Silent. I was a huge fan of the first two entries of the series, being instantly sucked into the second entry and surprised how much I really enjoyed the first one. So it came as a bit

WK's Top 100 Lost But Not Forgotten: SaGa Frontier 2

by Wolf Kanno on 04-05-2020 at 02:32 AM
I was having a serious reservation about whether I was going to add this to my Top 100 list or place it here. I decided it would go here for now, but part of me feels it could be like Demon's Souls and make the jump to My Top 100.

SaGa is a weird franchise. A JRPG series made for enthusiast who feel they've seen it all. From the Gameboy entries where you built a ragtag group filled with robots and monster to climb a tower/tree to visit
