I'll probably give it a shot, but I need a little break for now. Wouldn't want it to get stale.

But yeah, playing it now, I really don't get the criticism the D-Counter gets. Honestly, I felt I could have won all those battles even without using the dragon form, but I just wanted to get it over with faster.

So I finished the first fresh run of Dragon Quarte. I'm a but sad that I managed to onoy marginally increase my D-ratio. Going crazy with the dragon form from the Centre onwards was all kinds of fun.

It's a short game, thankfully. But one that I really loved. The demon loyalty mechanic is fantastic, imo. ALso, I like how they handle alignment - mechanically, that is, because there is no story alignment, whcih is fine

Yeah, I liked that about SQQ too! Glad to hear it was a cool experience for you regardless of all the dumb stuff that happened along the way

And yeah, I definitely love the Devil Summoner subseries and wish we had more of it. Too bad we'll most likely never see a Western release of the first game. At least I still have the Raidou games to look forward to!

I really like they fact that they didnt change too much - all the cutscenes, for example, are retain in their corny 90s glory of literally surfing through the Internet. In some ways it does give me an X-Files vibe, even if only with the atmosphere of the lighter episodes

Btw, please do yourself a favor and tell Spooky (I think it was Spooky) that you think Hitomi is sexy.

And how did finishing P1 feel?

I think I've mentioned this to you but haven't linked it

So basically this is the thing where Lindsay Ellis and some friends banded up to write a very collaborative stealth parody of YA paranormal romance novels. In the end, they made the book basically Twilight with Cthulhu. The episodes in this series are very short and I highly recommend you watch them since just seeing the process of this brainstorming and how the concept evolves is hilarious. Also, just mocking everything about Twilight etc. Ooh, and later it becomes a book club of sorts, so that's cool

Thanks man. I really hate working late because then I start talking like this. Gotta be positive!

Perhaps you're right. I'm just worried Ill end up disillusioned in the end. I feel this big purpose in me, bordering on delusions of grandeur, evne though I tell myself there's really nothing that makes me special, so I can't help but fear the disappointment that will come after the project is done.

Still, thanks. I'll keep doing my best. This is a temporary setback.

Sometimes I wonder if Im really as creative as I think or if I'm just desperately procrastinating my life away by grabbing everything I find and never doing anything of it to completion. Here I am thinking of composing again while my novel is once again losing steam. And while publishing a book may be feasible, what even am I supposed to do as a composer?

idk, it's confusing. Sorry if this came off as negative, I really didn't mean it as such. It's just late here, I'm tired woring, and my mind wanders.

Games tha are distracting me from playing other games...

by Wolf Kanno on 12-10-2023 at 06:09 AM
Since I'm doing a marathon, I thought it would be fun to list the games that are distracting me from actually finishing said marathon.

FFXV ~ MGS: Peace Walker and SaGa Scarlet Graces
FFXIII ~ Breath of Fire 1-3 and MechCommander Gold
XIII-2 ~ Romancing Saga Re:Universe and FF: Opera Omnia

Will update more in the future...

Projects!!!

by Wolf Kanno on 01-28-2021 at 07:40 AM
Oof, I've been a bit out of sorts with my mental health lately, and I think it's about time I do something about that. I've got a lot of balls in the air so to speak concerning projects I've been doing around the forum both past and present. So I'm thinking about tackling a few of them, but with how I've been feeling lately, I want some second opinions I guess. Of the projects I've abandoned, what should I work on next?

Here's where I'm at for the moment:

WK's Top 100 Lost but Not Forgotten : Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together

by Wolf Kanno on 05-24-2020 at 11:43 PM

I'm always split on these articles. So many of these games are great and I have retroactively said a few of them made the list, but occasionally something comes along that I really want to love but the game just won't let me. Tactics Ogre is in a weird place for me because the remake and the original are pretty different in some meaningful ways, so much of this review pertains to the remake due to having only played a little bit of the original.

WK's Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten List: Silent Hill 3

by Wolf Kanno on 05-03-2020 at 01:37 AM
Is this honestly the first non-RPG on this list?

Well I fell into the Silent Hill series rather late. By the time I had played the series, the "glory years" were over and fans were knee deep in Konami trying to take the series in a different direction without Team Silent. I was a huge fan of the first two entries of the series, being instantly sucked into the second entry and surprised how much I really enjoyed the first one. So it came as a bit

WK's Top 100 Lost But Not Forgotten: SaGa Frontier 2

by Wolf Kanno on 04-05-2020 at 02:32 AM
I was having a serious reservation about whether I was going to add this to my Top 100 list or place it here. I decided it would go here for now, but part of me feels it could be like Demon's Souls and make the jump to My Top 100.

SaGa is a weird franchise. A JRPG series made for enthusiast who feel they've seen it all. From the Gameboy entries where you built a ragtag group filled with robots and monster to climb a tower/tree to visit
