... that actually kinda motivates me to pick the game back up lol >.< I mean I knew you could hack whatever you wanted but it felt like it'd get really repetitive, but then again, I am a fan of bullet hell in general, so hey, will probably enjoy it.

I think Noir is a very special anime. It has no overly deep story but it gives me a special feeling the way they present Kirika and I really like the whole colour palette. Canta per Me is truly a great contributor to all of this for me. It has this tragic and yet so beautiful element to it. And I think that is kinda what woulld describe Noir for me as well. Kinda like the Park in Nier Automata. Its visuals and music are also "amazement and tragedy" for me. HUH! NOIR. NIER. And Kirika is nothing special when it comes to one thing. She has the same "surprise" as Battosai, Train Hearnett and Vash the Stampede which is the "oh my god, there is this other side that even to an extent seems like a seperate person" thing but I still like her and feel sorry for her. I think the anime should have gotten more episodes or have a manga that extends it. But it is a very special thing being anime only even to this day. Never started as manga, never got one.

I sometimes silently sung and/or hummed Canta per Me before and I think also during exams in university. It kinda calmed me as it is a special song for me.

Oh right, Nier:Automata did have those sections as well. I guess Undertale has them too but you haven't played that either IIRC. Is bullet hell a genre you simply don't care for or would be interested in checking out, just not on a high priority?

Ah yes, Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell. Classic ^^

If I had to narrow down a single favorite Japanese composer myself I suppose it would be ZUN, given the sheer volume of amazing music in the Touhou series. Have you ever played those, or any other bullet hells for that matter?

Yeah... I recently learned chronic stress actually impairs the development of your brain cells. Not that we’re getting stupider because of it but just... meh all around Also, don’t know how much that’ll help you, but it’s been proven that people feel better if they are in touch with nature more often, which is something I definitely plan to do during my vacation. We just weren’t meant for being cooped up in cities.

The most important thing is you have the drive to change these things around, and imo that’s the important part. You’ll get there

Yeah kinda ^^ there's a lot of games I missed out on in the end, and it's really not until recently that I set out to actually play some of them. Doing a lot of catchup in that sense.

That's some good Kajiura music. Think the only things I consumed with her music is Madoka Magica and Fate/Zero. Always liked the things I did hear from her though.

Since you are fond of Kajiura-san, do you know Noir?

    Godlike.

Btw, do you like this kind of music? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIuXjHraRlg

Well I don't intend to deep dive into the series anytime soon - I do want to eventually but it's not a priority - though Nocturne and the Persona 2 duology are the ones that I'm most interested in. Outside of SMT, I also do want to finish NieR:Automata which I stalled after route A, and of course Ys Chronicles and Origin. I'd also like to play the Mana series though I sadly don't own a Switch for the collection, as well as some of the Suikoden games. Oh and I have an itch to replay just about all of my favorite games which I've only begun to scratch with FFX and .hack//G.U. now so that's a running project as well.

Decided to give Ys VI a whirl for a change of pace, damn those old games can be so punishing. Though I had a good chuckle when I entered a boss fight and due to me not being strong enough and damage dealt being pretty much literally (your attack stat - enemy defense stat) I did 0 damage with every attack, forcing me to reset. Fun times. Was easily rectified by getting a sword upgrade though.

Backlog hell indeed >.< well no rush, not sure how the PS2 version stacks up to the rerelease anyways, but it is a game I like a great deal. Papers Please sounds interesting but both physically and mentally stressful as all hell O_o what SMT games do you still have to go through btw?

Games tha are distracting me from playing other games...

by Wolf Kanno on 12-10-2023 at 06:09 AM
Since I'm doing a marathon, I thought it would be fun to list the games that are distracting me from actually finishing said marathon.

FFXV ~ MGS: Peace Walker and SaGa Scarlet Graces
FFXIII ~ Breath of Fire 1-3 and MechCommander Gold
XIII-2 ~ Romancing Saga Re:Universe and FF: Opera Omnia

Will update more in the future...

Projects!!!

by Wolf Kanno on 01-28-2021 at 07:40 AM
Oof, I've been a bit out of sorts with my mental health lately, and I think it's about time I do something about that. I've got a lot of balls in the air so to speak concerning projects I've been doing around the forum both past and present. So I'm thinking about tackling a few of them, but with how I've been feeling lately, I want some second opinions I guess. Of the projects I've abandoned, what should I work on next?

Here's where I'm at for the moment:

WK's Top 100 Lost but Not Forgotten : Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together

by Wolf Kanno on 05-24-2020 at 11:43 PM

I'm always split on these articles. So many of these games are great and I have retroactively said a few of them made the list, but occasionally something comes along that I really want to love but the game just won't let me. Tactics Ogre is in a weird place for me because the remake and the original are pretty different in some meaningful ways, so much of this review pertains to the remake due to having only played a little bit of the original.

WK's Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten List: Silent Hill 3

by Wolf Kanno on 05-03-2020 at 01:37 AM
Is this honestly the first non-RPG on this list?

Well I fell into the Silent Hill series rather late. By the time I had played the series, the "glory years" were over and fans were knee deep in Konami trying to take the series in a different direction without Team Silent. I was a huge fan of the first two entries of the series, being instantly sucked into the second entry and surprised how much I really enjoyed the first one. So it came as a bit

WK's Top 100 Lost But Not Forgotten: SaGa Frontier 2

by Wolf Kanno on 04-05-2020 at 02:32 AM
I was having a serious reservation about whether I was going to add this to my Top 100 list or place it here. I decided it would go here for now, but part of me feels it could be like Demon's Souls and make the jump to My Top 100.

SaGa is a weird franchise. A JRPG series made for enthusiast who feel they've seen it all. From the Gameboy entries where you built a ragtag group filled with robots and monster to climb a tower/tree to visit
