Typing up the prologue actually went faster than expected!

And I'm sure you'll do a good job with the game! With any of your projects, really. Always remember this gif (it's seriously one of the most motivating things I've seen)

Well, I'm curious to see how it develops I also have an idea for a game, but I was thinking more of an adventure game/visual novel kind of thing. It's still in the very early stages, though, and I am just drowning in projects at this point

Speaking of, posted the prologue to the fanfic thing yesterday. Will post the first actual part today once I type it out, since so far it's only hand-written

It does have something that is similar in a certain way, but I don't want to go into too much detail. It's more about how actions have consequences and how even though you think you're in control, at a certain point there is no going back. But as a concept, it sounds different enough to not be the same thing. You should play it at least just to be safe, though
  5. I have it on my Steam, waiting for me. Perhaps I'll do it next after Persona 5 and finishing up Half-Life.

My idea that I think might be similar involves a game where the player constructs a silent protagonist to face off against an Evil God. You make all the choices for the character as usual, but after awhile, the character starts doing the opposite of your choices and eventually gains a sentient ego of it's own and rebels against the player. The central theme would be about free will and man's role in it's own creation.

Kind of, I guess? My advice would be that you play it. It's short and shouldn't take a lot of your time, and it's always good to take in a lot of the medium you want to create it

The drive isn't really something that comes easily, or even naturally, though. I kind of keep pushing it on myself because I know that if I don't, I'll just regret it later on in life. And I really do want to become a bitter old man

Well, then, maybe you want to talk about your idea to get fired up about it? When you have a day off or something, you should make it a priority to work on it. Getting back into a project is the worst part, but once you get through that barrier, especially since you yourself said you do enjoy working on a project, should be smooth sailing!

Hmm... it feels to me that you are dealing with issues that you could use professional help dealing with, considering how frustrating the place you're in is and how much straight up bad stuff has been happening.

As for writing versus the Internet, one can help the other, honestly. Pumpkin has been setting up writing deadlines for herself and me, for which we HAVE to send each other some writing. We also give each other feedback. So not only do you get a piece written, you also get immediate feeeback

    Yep, that's pretty stupid.

And I can relate. Of course, I have the luxury of being far away from my family and liking my job okay, but usually, I don't have the energy to do anything after work. Still, I do find actuallybrekying on video games, no matter how unwinding it may feel, does take away from the creative drive. I started drawing every day at exactly the same time I stopped playing after work. So maybe it might be a good idea to ease off the games for a bit? Like, play fewer of them at once, or on fewer days of the week?

Well okay, that's a good opportunity to think what can be done to reduce frustration in a heavy month

So what do you feel usually interferes the most? Imagine it's a loaded month and suddenly a great idea starts taking shape when you're at work. What is it that is stopping you from writing it down when you get home?

by Wolf Kanno on 12-10-2023 at 06:09 AM
Since I'm doing a marathon, I thought it would be fun to list the games that are distracting me from actually finishing said marathon.

FFXV ~ MGS: Peace Walker and SaGa Scarlet Graces
FFXIII ~ Breath of Fire 1-3 and MechCommander Gold
XIII-2 ~ Romancing Saga Re:Universe and FF: Opera Omnia

Will update more in the future...

Projects!!!

by Wolf Kanno on 01-28-2021 at 07:40 AM
Oof, I've been a bit out of sorts with my mental health lately, and I think it's about time I do something about that. I've got a lot of balls in the air so to speak concerning projects I've been doing around the forum both past and present. So I'm thinking about tackling a few of them, but with how I've been feeling lately, I want some second opinions I guess. Of the projects I've abandoned, what should I work on next?

Here's where I'm at for the moment:

WK's Top 100 Lost but Not Forgotten : Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together

by Wolf Kanno on 05-24-2020 at 11:43 PM

I'm always split on these articles. So many of these games are great and I have retroactively said a few of them made the list, but occasionally something comes along that I really want to love but the game just won't let me. Tactics Ogre is in a weird place for me because the remake and the original are pretty different in some meaningful ways, so much of this review pertains to the remake due to having only played a little bit of the original.

WK's Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten List: Silent Hill 3

by Wolf Kanno on 05-03-2020 at 01:37 AM
Is this honestly the first non-RPG on this list?

Well I fell into the Silent Hill series rather late. By the time I had played the series, the "glory years" were over and fans were knee deep in Konami trying to take the series in a different direction without Team Silent. I was a huge fan of the first two entries of the series, being instantly sucked into the second entry and surprised how much I really enjoyed the first one. So it came as a bit

WK's Top 100 Lost But Not Forgotten: SaGa Frontier 2

by Wolf Kanno on 04-05-2020 at 02:32 AM
I was having a serious reservation about whether I was going to add this to my Top 100 list or place it here. I decided it would go here for now, but part of me feels it could be like Demon's Souls and make the jump to My Top 100.

SaGa is a weird franchise. A JRPG series made for enthusiast who feel they've seen it all. From the Gameboy entries where you built a ragtag group filled with robots and monster to climb a tower/tree to visit
