I'm wondering if I'll get the chance to pick up Last Story soon? It was one I'd hoped to have when I did my top ten games this year.

And that ending was pretty smurfing awesome. Did not see that twist coming.

Firstly it's the best game I played all year.

The environments are all wonderful, Prison Island being a personal favorite. Gameplay is solid.

If someone were to tell me that this was the best RPG made, I would not fault them, as it is amazing.

However, there are a few things that bother me way to much to say it's the best. Mainly it's the side quests, both this games blessing and it's curse.

The Second is Fiora, and this games insistence that she is some extra strong person, which if I wasn't about to start playing again, I would go on a rant as to everything about her that pisses me off.

We also have the time Melia decided to stay behind, and I think I already brought that up before.

And the awkward moment where I did one of her Heart to Hearts AFTER the Mechonis core stuff happened, and saying that she wants to destroy all Mechon. That, admittedly, was more bad timing to do that particular heart to heart,.

It was funny for me for an entirely different reason.

    1) She promised Melia she'd drag Shulk back to her after they saved Fiora.
    2) A Heart to Heart with Fiora and Sharla has Sharla pushing Fiora to make her move on Shulk.
    3) Final Heart to Heart with Sharla and Melia has Sharla try one last time to get Melia to admit her feelings to Shulk, and is dissapointed When Melia decides to let Shulk go.

I think She has this raging bitch locked deep inside, and from time to time it slips out to just try to start trout for no reason what so ever.

Okay, just did the last Heart to heart with Melia and Sharla...
I think Melia just hit on Sharla.
The first response go the good one, then the bad one and you get the following.
"I'm sure you'll find love again."
    "Maybe even with... never mind"
    "With Who?"
"Just think for a while, it'll come to you."

Nope, but I did see the 100 giant on Valek Mountain.

And I've now beaten the Core. I'm fairly certain this next Dungeon is the last, so I'm doing some late game grinding and questing to get access to all the good trout.

My current set up, which seems to be beating the living trout out of everything, is still Shulk, Dunban, and Melia.

Shulk needs to do almost nothing but Stream Edge and Light Heal from his normal list. The rest of the time I have him Auto Attacking (He has Haste, HP-Steal, and Auto-atk Stealth). and I use Armor whenever Monado can activate. Armor may only have a 15 second length, but doing this it stays up near constantly. Between his Light HP, keeping his own HP up with HP drain, Dunban with Arts Heal, and Melia's Water Elemental and heal spell, I am suffering nearly no threat from even red monsters.

On that note, Fiora is definately on of the least interesting Android Girls I've seen.

She seems to resemble Aegis more then Kos-Mos to me.

Games tha are distracting me from playing other games...

by Wolf Kanno on 12-10-2023 at 06:09 AM
Since I'm doing a marathon, I thought it would be fun to list the games that are distracting me from actually finishing said marathon.

FFXV ~ MGS: Peace Walker and SaGa Scarlet Graces
FFXIII ~ Breath of Fire 1-3 and MechCommander Gold
XIII-2 ~ Romancing Saga Re:Universe and FF: Opera Omnia

Will update more in the future...

Projects!!!

by Wolf Kanno on 01-28-2021 at 07:40 AM
Oof, I've been a bit out of sorts with my mental health lately, and I think it's about time I do something about that. I've got a lot of balls in the air so to speak concerning projects I've been doing around the forum both past and present. So I'm thinking about tackling a few of them, but with how I've been feeling lately, I want some second opinions I guess. Of the projects I've abandoned, what should I work on next?

Here's where I'm at for the moment:

WK's Top 100 Lost but Not Forgotten : Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together

by Wolf Kanno on 05-24-2020 at 11:43 PM

I'm always split on these articles. So many of these games are great and I have retroactively said a few of them made the list, but occasionally something comes along that I really want to love but the game just won't let me. Tactics Ogre is in a weird place for me because the remake and the original are pretty different in some meaningful ways, so much of this review pertains to the remake due to having only played a little bit of the original.

WK's Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten List: Silent Hill 3

by Wolf Kanno on 05-03-2020 at 01:37 AM
Is this honestly the first non-RPG on this list?

Well I fell into the Silent Hill series rather late. By the time I had played the series, the "glory years" were over and fans were knee deep in Konami trying to take the series in a different direction without Team Silent. I was a huge fan of the first two entries of the series, being instantly sucked into the second entry and surprised how much I really enjoyed the first one. So it came as a bit

WK's Top 100 Lost But Not Forgotten: SaGa Frontier 2

by Wolf Kanno on 04-05-2020 at 02:32 AM
I was having a serious reservation about whether I was going to add this to my Top 100 list or place it here. I decided it would go here for now, but part of me feels it could be like Demon's Souls and make the jump to My Top 100.

SaGa is a weird franchise. A JRPG series made for enthusiast who feel they've seen it all. From the Gameboy entries where you built a ragtag group filled with robots and monster to climb a tower/tree to visit
