Yeah I think it’s gonna be really hard to me to go back to the traditional combat mechanics for Fragmentary Passage and III. The Command Deck worked so good and was used for three whole games at this point so it really feels like going back is a downgrade

Sounds like you had a bit more fun I’d say

Also, did you hear that they’re actually wrapping up Union X? And I don’t mean just the season - the entire thing will be finished soon. The Xehanort side game thing will still go on for a little while but it’s still comforting that the super crucial in terms of lore entry isn’t going to be forever relegated to a serialized mobile platform. I wonder if that means we’ll get an offline release with the filler reduced like they did with FF Dimensions 2

Yeah, the worlds in III are all seamless open worlds aren’t they

I also really liked the return of TWTNW in 3D. Really liked the new music

The Fantasia world really suffers for the music constantly restarting after every reality shift

And yeah, I’m not a fan of the world selection for III either. While I do like most of those movies, I heard Disney had real tight control over what could happen in them. the Frozen world was the biggest victim of this, apparently

Yeah Maleficent really got done dirty. She was amazing in KHI.

And yeah, the Three Musketeers was honestly a surprise, but definitely a welcome one, as that was in itself a surprisingly enjoyable movie. The logistics of it all are incredibly confusing for KH though. Like we already have Disney Castle, so where does this play into all that? The Mickey here is our Mickey, but not Donald and Goody? What the hell

Idk, Cadence of Hyrule feels like an action game that you just have to play in a rhythm, while this basically feels like Theatrhythm but more things happen on screen. In the end you’re still just pressing the buttons the game tells you to when it tells you to.

I mean, I probably would’ve liked something more similar to Theatrhythm, but I’ll take it.

I’m honestly looking forward to MoM far more than I am to III. Theatrhythm was a treasure and I’ve wanted a KH Theatrhythm for ages

I’m totally getting my tinfoil hat for this, but isn’t it interesting how Melody of Memory abbreviates to MoM, just like Master of Masters? Miraculously, I am somehow completely unspoiled on that game.

For me it really is just the mini games that makes the DE tedious, I’m really fine with all the other aspects of them and don’t even mind we get them instead of regular party members. The fact you need to repeat these three mini games over and over was just ugh.

I think a remake is inevitable, but also consider the fact that the game will be kept alive by SE until it brings money, and it will likely do so for a long time. I literally wish it had come out as any other type of game because I just can never focus on these, and watching a summary of the story never works for me either

Games tha are distracting me from playing other games...

by Wolf Kanno on 12-10-2023 at 06:09 AM
Since I'm doing a marathon, I thought it would be fun to list the games that are distracting me from actually finishing said marathon.

FFXV ~ MGS: Peace Walker and SaGa Scarlet Graces
FFXIII ~ Breath of Fire 1-3 and MechCommander Gold
XIII-2 ~ Romancing Saga Re:Universe and FF: Opera Omnia

Will update more in the future...

Projects!!!

by Wolf Kanno on 01-28-2021 at 07:40 AM
Oof, I've been a bit out of sorts with my mental health lately, and I think it's about time I do something about that. I've got a lot of balls in the air so to speak concerning projects I've been doing around the forum both past and present. So I'm thinking about tackling a few of them, but with how I've been feeling lately, I want some second opinions I guess. Of the projects I've abandoned, what should I work on next?

Here's where I'm at for the moment:

WK's Top 100 Lost but Not Forgotten : Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together

by Wolf Kanno on 05-24-2020 at 11:43 PM

I'm always split on these articles. So many of these games are great and I have retroactively said a few of them made the list, but occasionally something comes along that I really want to love but the game just won't let me. Tactics Ogre is in a weird place for me because the remake and the original are pretty different in some meaningful ways, so much of this review pertains to the remake due to having only played a little bit of the original.

WK's Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten List: Silent Hill 3

by Wolf Kanno on 05-03-2020 at 01:37 AM
Is this honestly the first non-RPG on this list?

Well I fell into the Silent Hill series rather late. By the time I had played the series, the "glory years" were over and fans were knee deep in Konami trying to take the series in a different direction without Team Silent. I was a huge fan of the first two entries of the series, being instantly sucked into the second entry and surprised how much I really enjoyed the first one. So it came as a bit

WK's Top 100 Lost But Not Forgotten: SaGa Frontier 2

by Wolf Kanno on 04-05-2020 at 02:32 AM
I was having a serious reservation about whether I was going to add this to my Top 100 list or place it here. I decided it would go here for now, but part of me feels it could be like Demon's Souls and make the jump to My Top 100.

SaGa is a weird franchise. A JRPG series made for enthusiast who feel they've seen it all. From the Gameboy entries where you built a ragtag group filled with robots and monster to climb a tower/tree to visit
