    Indeed!

Btw, was just gifted DQXI on Steam. Hope that doesn’t delay that phase much

Well then it’s settled. Step 1: be a successful writer. That’s the easy part

You and I need to collaborate on something one day. Maybe once we’ve both made a name for ourselves.

Mostly taking care of the baby. A lot of work because he’s hit a growth spurt. I also have even less time because I have physiotherapy every day after work, so I end up being home really late. But I have been reading a lot, and I think I’m making progress in brainstorming my novel. Playing some Disciples on the side sometimes, though I’m glad I’m able to spend the least amount of my free time on games for once.

Funny how you mention comic books, because I don’t know if I’ve told you this but my brother and I have a webcomic planned (he’s a fantastic artist, tbh). It’s supposed to be about a 50s housewife dealing with Lovecraftian horrors. Hilarity ensues.

I’m also kind of mentally preparing for NaNo and considering doing it properly this time - ergo, I might just attempt to write a book from scratch. Maybe I’ll do that paranormal investigator lady I told you about some time ago. November is a spooky month, after all.

So, what’s up, my lupine friend?

Wow, sounds like you have a lot on your plate now, but that’s great I say I’m in a slump but it’s really just me being unable to put pen to paper for a while now, but I am constantly brainstorming my novel in my head so that’s good. I think I’ve reached a decision when it comes to the POVs - basically, I may need to wait much longer to introduce the other major players. It helps that I’ve been reading a lot again. Currently reading a short story collection by Sapkowski (Witcher author) and it’s really good. So far the stories I’ve read have been fantasy and horror, but I’ve heard there’s more variety to the book later on so I’m looking forward to it.

So it’s been pretty quiet here lately, huh

Finished Suikoden II yesterday. For now I’ll be playing a little bit of Disciples: Sacred Lands when I have the time, but I want to spend the majority of my available time now on writing. It’s hard, and I’m in quite a considerable slump right now, but I’ll do my best.

For me it’s pretty much the other way around. I played Dimensions, FFVI, FFV, FFT and the Chaos Rings games on my phone, but I just can’t stay committed to Record Keeper, Brave Exvius, Kingdom Hearts χ and SMT Dx2. I think it’s those constant reminders of the gacha lotteries, the endlessness of the content, and the repetition that just break the immersion for me

I’ve yet to try Dimensions 2, though I’m pretty apprehensive about it since they seem to have shifted to a more mobile-like format for this game. Dimensions 1 was delightfully an old school FF on phones and I’m just really not into the format most mobile games take around now

Yeah I’ve seen it, Sephex has been going on and on about it. The footage is very well made, though I’m always kind of miffed that whenever people talk about Chrono Break, they kinda forget that Chrono Cross also happened and that makes me sad

Games tha are distracting me from playing other games...

by Wolf Kanno on 12-10-2023 at 06:09 AM
Since I'm doing a marathon, I thought it would be fun to list the games that are distracting me from actually finishing said marathon.

FFXV ~ MGS: Peace Walker and SaGa Scarlet Graces
FFXIII ~ Breath of Fire 1-3 and MechCommander Gold
XIII-2 ~ Romancing Saga Re:Universe and FF: Opera Omnia

Will update more in the future...

Projects!!!

by Wolf Kanno on 01-28-2021 at 07:40 AM
Oof, I've been a bit out of sorts with my mental health lately, and I think it's about time I do something about that. I've got a lot of balls in the air so to speak concerning projects I've been doing around the forum both past and present. So I'm thinking about tackling a few of them, but with how I've been feeling lately, I want some second opinions I guess. Of the projects I've abandoned, what should I work on next?

Here's where I'm at for the moment:

WK's Top 100 Lost but Not Forgotten : Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together

by Wolf Kanno on 05-24-2020 at 11:43 PM

I'm always split on these articles. So many of these games are great and I have retroactively said a few of them made the list, but occasionally something comes along that I really want to love but the game just won't let me. Tactics Ogre is in a weird place for me because the remake and the original are pretty different in some meaningful ways, so much of this review pertains to the remake due to having only played a little bit of the original.

WK's Top 100's Lost but Not Forgotten List: Silent Hill 3

by Wolf Kanno on 05-03-2020 at 01:37 AM
Is this honestly the first non-RPG on this list?

Well I fell into the Silent Hill series rather late. By the time I had played the series, the "glory years" were over and fans were knee deep in Konami trying to take the series in a different direction without Team Silent. I was a huge fan of the first two entries of the series, being instantly sucked into the second entry and surprised how much I really enjoyed the first one. So it came as a bit

WK's Top 100 Lost But Not Forgotten: SaGa Frontier 2

by Wolf Kanno on 04-05-2020 at 02:32 AM
I was having a serious reservation about whether I was going to add this to my Top 100 list or place it here. I decided it would go here for now, but part of me feels it could be like Demon's Souls and make the jump to My Top 100.

SaGa is a weird franchise. A JRPG series made for enthusiast who feel they've seen it all. From the Gameboy entries where you built a ragtag group filled with robots and monster to climb a tower/tree to visit
